Peter slumped onto the bar stool, downing the last of his whiskey. The rest of his team had already left the pub for the after party. But Peter couldn't bring himself to leave just yet.
"Another round?" The bartender eyed him questioningly.
Peter sighed and nodded as he drained his fresh glass, trying to drown his disappointment.
As the last call drew near, the bartender declined to serve anymore so Peter paid his tab, stumbling a bit as he stepped outside into the crisp night air. It was a beautiful night. But Peter didn't have the faintest idea of where he should go. Clearly he wasn't ready to go home. He just couldn't bear going back to his lonely apartment yet. He decides to stay out for a while.
Peter Pov
At night the New York lights up like a Christmas tree. The street looks extremely lively; there was a group of friends laughing, probably college students, there were some lovers getting lost in each other's eyes, ugh and there were even fights going on.
In the midst of the fun and laughter, I was completely alone. The party has ended with everyone getting drunk. Dalton didn't show up, obviously he wouldn't attend the employee party. Paul got called back to the office. Thank god. Ethan got completely wasted that we had to call his roommate.
Me!
Well, where would I go. I wanted to stay out for a little longer to cool off my head and my disappointments. I was really excited to see Dalton outside the office but I was just stupid to expect anything.
Third Person Pov
Peter went to different bars and kept drinking more to numb his aching heart. His steps became more wobbly as the time passed, almost fell a few times so he decided to take advantage of the wall.
His mind was full of confusion, not knowing where he was going, why he kept on walking at this condition, however, his body insisted on pushing its limits so he held the wall.
Tears welled up as he felt pity on himself, he missed his parents, whom he stopped talking to after getting out of the house and Dalton. Although, Dalton never showed any direct affection towards him, Peter saw the little gestures and the way he protected him today in the meeting.
"I just don't want to be alone", he cried.People passed by, looking at him occasionally, couldn't help notice his flushed face but none of them helped him. It was not their first time seeing a drunk.
Among the sea of people, Peter realised that he was actually lonely.
The freckled man passed by a shop and saw his own reflection. He wiped the tear and noticed that the pimple on his nose was still there.
"It really looks like a rabbit's nose", he mumbled.
All of a sudden, the morning incident passes his mind, reminding him the handsome guy he met at the stairs. A blush crept on his face as Peter head started banging, a wave of heat surging in again.
"I need to cool my head" and started wandering aimlessly down the street, Peter failed to notice the figure in front of him until they collided. Just as he was about to meet the floor, two large hands held him closer to the other's body.
"Is this a habit of yours?" The man's deep voice sounded annoyed.
"S-Sorry..." Peter's words were slurred as he tried to refocus. Brown eyes opened and met with the grey ones. It's him!
"You really need to watch where you're going," the irritated stranger chided him, straightening his jacket.
Peter was flustered to meet him again. However, the alcohol had magnified his temper several times. With narrowed eyes, he abruptly raised his head and pointed his finger, "You stalker... you -"
