How the heart chooses (a chuuya x reader story)

"Hey Y/N, once your done with that customer you can go ahead and clock out and head home." My boss Rebecca told me as she appeared around the corner that lead to the back of the coffee shop.

"Alright, thanks for letting me know." I replied back with a smile.

I turned back to my customer and placed her order into the system, I sent it to the back and waited until the order was done and then brought it out to her.

"Here you go Miss." I said while handing her the order.

"Thank you my dear, you have a lovely night." She said back with a kind smile.

Once she was out the door I quickly cleaned up the front counter and walked to the back to clock out and head home for the day. I got to the back and took my apron off and headed to the computer clocking my name out for the day.

I grabbed my things from my locker and headed out. I was a 23 years old with H/L, H/C. I had been born in America, but I had recently moved to Tokyo Japan to try something new. I was the oldest girl out of all my younger siblings, I had a younger brother who was 18 and a younger sister who was 17. I walked to my car and made the decision to drive to the library for a bit to see if I could find a good book to settle down and read tonight. Once I arrived I went inside quietly and started looking around. Noting was really catching my interest until I came upon the manga section.

I started looking around when I spotted a series I hadn't seen since I was a child still in school. I pulled of one the mangas out and looked at it with a happy smile.

"I haven't seen this series since I was a kid, I wonder if it's still the same series I fell in love with as a kid." I thought outloud.

I decided to take a few of the books home to read and see if I'd still enjoy it now as an adult. I checked the books out and walked back out to my car and drove to my apartment. Once I was inside I made myself some dinner and settled down on the couch to read.

It didn't take long before I was immersed into the series, I finished the books pretty quickly and I still had some time left before I needed to get some sleep so I decided to start watching the series again. I turned my Tv on and flipped on the show and started watching it. I got through the first season before I could feel my eyes getting heavy, I didn't have enough energy to turn the Tv off so I just left it play.

The next morning I woke up with a groan.

"I don't want to go into work today, but I need money." I thought with annoyance. "Thankfully my boss and coworkers are like family to me, they make work fun."

I begrudgingly got up and changed into some comfortable work clothes, I brushed my hair back into a loose ponytail before putting my shoes on and heading out the door. I walked to my car and started driving to my job while listening to F/M. Once I arrived I walked inside and clocked in before putting my apron on and walking to the counter to getting ready to open.

When I made it to the counter I noticed my two best friends already here.

"Hey Nev, hey B/F/N." I said. "Your both on time today." I joked.

"Yeah yeah, we know." B/F/N retorted.

"Not everyone can be on time everyday like you." Nev joked.

"There's nothing wrong with being on time!" I defended myself.

"I know that, we're just messing with you." Nev said while B/F/N nodded her head.

I rolled my eyes but I had a grin on my face betraying my supposed anger.

"Wonder how busy it's going to be?" B/F/N asked.

"I bet 20 bucks it's going to be busy." Nev smirked.

"I bet 40 bucks it's going to be a quiet day" I smirked back.

For the rest of the day we worked and served customers that came into the coffee shop. As it turned out it was a very quiet day, which I didn't really mind, it gave me a chance to chat with some of the regular customers who came in. At the end of the day I turned to Nev and gave her a sly smirk.

"Pay up, you lost girl" I laughed holding my hand out while she begrudgingly put the $40 into my hand. I put the money into my Jean pocket.

"My shift just ended so I'm going to head out, see you both tomorrow." I said with a smile.

"See you tomorrow." They said in unison.

I clocked and took my apron off, I grabbed my things and headed to my car. I drove home and changed into some comfortable pajamas before settling down on the couch and turning on Bungo Stray Dogs. I watched the show for a while before heading to bed.

"Imagine the show was actually real, that would be a literal dream come true." I sighed as I headed to bed.

I got into my bed and pulled my covers up getting comfortable as I fell into a dreamless sleep.

I did actually decide to include my best friend in this book like I did the last one, only this time it's a different role, but I didn't want to just give the best friend role to her, so I decided y/n would have two best friends, Nev (my best friends nickname, I don't feel comfortable using her irl name) and B/F/N, so that way your best friend can also be included.
