Anthropolis, a grand twin city metropolitan divided by the head of the mighty Mississippi River in Midwestern North America. A city of blinding neon lights that once served as the capital of the American sphere of influence was now a grand hub for crime and underground American resistance movements. Despite this, the local law enforcement had governed the former American city with an iron fist, doing its best to snub out crime and quell any sign of human rebellion within their jurisdiction. However, as hard as law enforcement tries, they can never fully root out the countless syndicates, gangs, mercenaries, and even vagrants that plague the city. And despite the law's bravado about eliminating and ending crime, the red-light districts of the downtown metropolitan seemed to be the one safe haven for the criminal underworld; as long as anyone isn't caught red handed by the endless waves of patrolling law enforcement drones or officers and their android henchmen. If you kept your business out of sight, you will be kept out of the mind of the law.
Upon leaving a dilapidated historic apartment complex of the red-light district, a human male descends down the stone front steps of an apartment building, tossing the leather hood of his trench coat over his head as he stepped onto the sidewalk and begins to stroll down the avenue of the district; the poorly maintained concrete of the sidewalk crunching underneath his combat boots. He passes by homeless alcoholics strung out on drinking binges, anthro and human women dressed in scantily clad attire peddling their goods, various adult oriented stores, shops, nightclubs, and electronic hubs to purchase technological wonders. Having reached into his trench coat pocket, the human takes out an electronic nicotine module and brings it up to his mouth, taking in a hit and bellows out a cloud of vapors.
"Ugh... this thing is running low..." The human mumbles to himself, bringing the module down from his mouth and stuffs it back into his coat pocket.
The human continued to walk down the avenue for about ten minutes, expertly avoiding pill pushers and sex peddlers before arriving at the front side of a gentlemen's club. The sound of muffled bass music could be heard coming from inside the club as the human walked past a line of eager and restless anthro men waiting for their chance to be granted access to the club. As a stoic anthro bear front door bouncer listened to the hopeless pleas of two anthros in front of him, he turned his gaze to see a human with an all-black trench coat, combat jeans, and boots approaching him.
"Hey, buddy," The anthro bear said, uncrossing his arms and extending his hand out to the human. "You're gonna have to wait your turn like every-"
"Name's Roman." The human interrupted, stopping in front of the bear and glances up to him. "I'm here to see Vinnie. He's got my payment on a job."
The bear looked at Roman for a second before bringing his fingers up to a button of an earpiece. "Yo, Vinnie. Got a guy by the name of Roman out here to see you."
Roman continued to stare up at the bear for a few moments as the line next to him begun to complain and protest that the bouncer had not sent Roman on his way. After a few moments, the bear nods and brings his fingers down before reaching his arm down to the velvet rope behind him.
"Vinnie is in the VIP." The bear says as he unlocks the rope, a collective groan of annoyance erupting from the line as Roman smirked to himself.
"Thank you, good sir." Roman said, giving the bear a two fingered salute as he strolled past him and towards the front doors of the club. Upon entering the club, Roman strolled down the main hallway that led further into the building, the sound of heavy bass of electronic music filling his ears. Roman eventually reaches the end of the hall before turning the corner and brings his hoodie down, gazing upon a club filled with anthro men as they surrounded a grand stage where a practically naked anthro female fox dancer swings and grinds on the pole, patrons tossing their bills onto the stage. Roman stops in his tracks, scanning around the club for the VIP lounge. As he scanned, he suddenly felt a hand placed upon his shoulder and his chest. He shot his gaze over to his left, seeing a white furred anthro canine wearing nothing but an ultra-thin micro bikini.
