Omniscient Narrator:

Sanemi swung the katana in his hands toward Nezuko's neck, but she dodged it by ducking just in time and shot him a disapproving look, her cheeks puffed up in anger. Sanemi gritted his teeth. He would never fight alongside a demon, and this girl was no exception. To make matters worse, he couldn't kill her because the master had accepted her as part of the corp. Couldn't anyone see the madness in that? Was Sanemi the only one who knew that this demon girl would eventually kill an innocent person?

"You want to become one of us? Don't mess with me! No matter how much you pretend, I'll never accept you!" he shouted furiously.

"Hmm," Nezuko frowned and puffed up her cheeks even more.

"Huh?" Sanemi stared at her, his eyes twitching with barely contained rage. Was she mocking him?

He braced himself as Nezuko leaped toward him. He couldn't kill her, but if she attacked first, then he had the green light to take her down. After all, he would just be defending himself. No matter how much the master trusted her, he wasn't going to lower his guard around her. The demon girl bared her claws as she rushed toward Sanemi. He flashed a malicious smile, eager to finally cut off her head.

C'mon, attack me.

Sanemi raised his katana high, ready to strike as Nezuko closed in, her neck just inches away from his blade. But as he swung, his attack sliced through empty air—Nezuko had slipped past him with incredible speed. She hadn't been aiming for Sanemi at all; her true target was the demon that had crept up behind him, poised to stab him with a spear. Without hesitation, Nezuko tore the head off the blue-eyed demon. Sanemi stood stunned, his eyes fixed on the blood dripping from the demon's severed neck, while the sister of that idiot with the earrings grinned at him, her smile both unsettling and triumphant.

For a brief moment, the fierce resolve she displayed softened his hatred toward her. Just a damn little.

Even though she'd saved him, it only made him hate her more.

"Hmm," Nezuko smiled at him, shaking the demon's head in her hand as if to show Sanemi a tangible proof of her allegiance.

"You're still not one of us!" he growled, unable to change his mindset. He will never.

Nezuko frowned, a little sad and exasperated. Sanemi hated her, and she didn't know what to do to win him over. She wanted to help her brother, and for that, she and Sanemi had to fight side by side against these four demons. Nezuko got distracted, thinking of ways to achieve her goal when the green-eyed demon lunged at her. It was too late to dodge the kick. The demon would have pierced her chest with its claws if it weren't for Sanemi's slash, decapitating the demon before it could reach her.

Nezuko blinked several times and then looked at Sanemi with grateful eyes.

"The hell with that look? I didn't save you 'cause I like you! I just chopped off the demon's head. It's got nothing to do with you. Stop looking at me like that, damn it!"

Nezuko's smile was radiant with triumph. She'd done it. She got Sanemi to accept her. For a few seconds, Sanemi was silent, the sight of her grin stirring memories of Genya.

"Alright," he muttered, almost against his will. "We'll work together temporarily to take down this damned demon. But once we're done, I'll kill you!"

Nezuko beamed and nodded, determination in her eyes fixed on him.

"Huh?" Sanemi narrowed his own. She has the same expression as her brat of a brother. How annoying...

Sanemi readied himself with Genya's katana in hand, glaring defiantly at the two remaining demons. Nezuko, beside him, also bared her claws, ready to slice through as many necks as necessary. Both wore the same devilish grin.
