New chapter, hope you like it <3

I woke up, still feeling groggy from sleep, my mind struggling to grasp the remnants of a beautiful dream that slipped away as I surfaced into consciousness. The shuffling sounds nearby jolted me awake fully, my senses immediately on high alert. As I opened my eyes, I tried to recall what had happened the night before, searching for an explanation for why my back hurt so much. I found myself seated with my head resting against a sturdy wooden column, and a weighty presence on my lap.

In an instant, the events of the previous night flooded back—this wasn't my own estate; I was at the Wind Estate. I had spent the night here with Shinazugawa, his head nestled in my lap as we both succumbed to sleep. The blanket he had given me still draped over my shoulders, a tangible reminder of the night's unexpected turn.

As I attempted to shake off the remnants of sleep and make sense of the situation, my gaze was met with the sharp, penetrating stare of two different eye's color, cutting through the haze of morning fog with the intensity of a snake. "Iguro!" I exclaimed, startled by his sudden appearance. He stood before me, his usual air of detached mystery hanging around him. Shinazugawa lay asleep in my lap, oblivious to the tension in the air.

A surge of nerves gripped me as I realized the potential for misunderstanding in this situation. "This isn't what you think..." I began, my words trailing off as I struggled to articulate the truth of our innocent slumber.

But Iguro remained impassive, his expression revealing nothing. "I'm not interested," he stated bluntly, his tone cutting through the tension like a knife. Despite his indifferent response, I couldn't shake the discomfort of being caught in such a compromising position with Shinazugawa. Then again, I had fallen asleep like that with Mitsuri before. However, for some reason, it felt different with Shinazugawa, perhaps because he was a boy.

Then, a bark echoed from inside the house, signaling Ohagi's awakening and adding to the already charged atmosphere. Iguro's disapproving frown deepened, and even Kaburamaru seemed to share his disdain for the interruption. "What a noisy animal," Iguro muttered, his irritation palpable.

I felt Shinazugawa stir in my lap, roused from his slumber by the commotion. As he sat up, confusion etched across his features, his eyes met mine first, then widened in shock as he noticed Iguro's presence. Jumping to his feet, Shinazugawa ran a hand through his tousled hair, attempting to regain his composure in the face of Iguro's unexpected arrival.

But Iguro remained unfazed by his friend's disorientation. "What the hell are you doing here? Can't you give me a heads-up?" Shinazugawa demanded, his frustration evident, and a hint of pink on his cheeks from embarrassment.

Iguro's response was cool and collected, his gaze fixed on Shinazugawa. "What's the point of giving you a heads-up if you're always alone? I didn't expect you to have... company last night," he remarked, his words loaded with implications.

Shinazugawa bristled at Iguro's insinuation, his temper flaring. "What are you suggesting? Want me to knock your teeth out?" he growled, his hands balling into fists. But Iguro remained unruffled, his indifference unwavering. "I'm not suggesting anything. I couldn't care less about this life style of yours," he retorted dismissively.

As the tension between them escalated, I felt the heat rising in my cheeks, a flush of embarrassment coloring my face. I knew I had to intervene.

"Iguro-san, you're mistaken. I just..." I hesitated, searching for the right words to diffuse the situation. What was I supposed to say anyways? Shinazugawa just let himself sleep on my lap while I petted him? This was very bad. "I just came to take care of the puppy," I finally offered, hoping to steer the conversation away from the awkwardness of our sleeping arrangements.
