TOBY RAN through the crowded hallways of East high, his bag falling off his shoulder. He ran past his fellow classmates and everyone wouldn't be surprised if he was secretly a superhero by how fast he was running. Forrest and Ashlyn were standing by their lockers, talking about the musical when Toby sprinted past them.
"Toby!" Forrest yelled as he saw his friend, struggling to get to the auditorium. Ashlyn and him just shrugged and continued with their conversation.
"Sorry! I'm late!" He shouted back as he kept running. He panted as he burst through the doors of the classroom where Miss Jenn, Carlos, and most importantly, Nini was. He held his chest as he held onto the doorframe to catch his breath.
"I... oh my god... I'm so sorry I'm late" Toby swallowed hardly as he walked towards Miss Jenn. "It won't happen again". Carlos glared at Toby which made him shift in his position awkwardly.
"Thank you both for an early start today" Miss Jenn said as she clasped her hands together, walking towards the two. "Let's begin."
Nini hopped off of the piano and looked around, noticing nobody else was there with them. "Wait, it's just the two of us?" She asked looking at Miss Jenn, confused.
Miss Jenn nodded eagerly. "We're diving into page ninety-seven" she handed Toby and Nini their scripts.
"You mean the last scene?" Toby asked as he looked over the script. "You want us to rehearse this? It's only one line." He said, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Yeah, I've got one,too" Nini mumbled. Miss Jenn glanced between the two and smiled
"And then there's the kiss." She said casually. Toby's heart stopped as his eyes widened and his hands started shaking.
"I-I'm sorry. D-did you say kiss?" He stuttered. "Was there a kiss in the movies?" He asked looking at Nini, who just shook her head.
"Yeah, I don't remember a kiss in what we read yesterday" Nini replied, flipping her paper.
"It was very much there in the original film." Miss Jenn said confidently as she held her head up high.
Toby ran a hand through his hair and looked nervously at Nini, who gave him the same expression.

"Wait, wait, wait. So let me get this straight, you have to kiss Nini at the end of the play?" Forrest asked while sitting on the beanbag in Tobys room.
"Yeah." Toby breathed out as he paced around the room.
"Well this is great!" Forrest said throwing his tennis ball up in the air.
