TOBY STARED at his messages. He was trying to text Nini an apology, he really was. But every time he thought he had a good one, he deleted and restarted. Toby groaned and threw his phone on the couch. When he heard a buzz he instantly got up and opened the text.

Gina
Hey.
Sorry for the whole blowup at
The party

Toby
It's all good.
You okay though?

Gina
I'd be lying if I said I was
I'm moving again...

Toby
Oh...I'm sorry.

Toby sighed and went upstairs to get some sleep, Hoping it would get his mind off of the drama.

Toby walked into the school but was greeted with a burned auditorium. He pushed through the crowd of theatre kids and looked around the room, his eyes wide and mouth open. "What the hell happened?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"It's okay. Nobody was hurt. There was a small fire in the theatre over the holiday and the sprinklers did their job." Miss Jenn explained, a look of sadness on her face.

"Small fire? Our whole auditorium looks like when Forrest tried to cook" Forrest elbowed Toby in the ribs and crossed his arms. Nini looked at Toby from where she was standing and frowned until she noticed the necklace he was wearing. The necklace was a little moon. She had given him that when they were thirteen and Toby mentioned he liked astrology. Nini smiled sadly at it before turning her attention back to the burned theatre.

"We're almost done in here," said a firefighter, a smoking basketball in her hands, "just have to finish up in the faculty room next. Some circuits blew in there over the break. Unfortunately, the show cannot go on"

"What?" Miss Jenns eyes widened as she looked at the woman.

"Fire ripped through half of your costumes and the sprinklers ruined a bunch of your sets. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to red tag the entire backstage area for a month at least." The firefighter placed the basketball in Miss Jenns before shrugging and walking away. Toby scoffed and crossed his arms.

"Did she just say costumes?" Toby turned his head to look at Kourtney. Her eyes were filled with sadness. She had worked so hard on those costumes, and for what? To get burned in a fire?

"Okay. Okay, listen up. Hug your neighbor," Toby glanced at Nini with an apologetic look. She just gave him a simple side hug before shifting away awkwardly, "take a moment and let's all reconvene in the cafeteria to talk about our options. Nini and Toby, spread the word." They both nodded.
