From a young age, Leonora Potter had discovered that she was quite different from the rest of her family. After getting sorted into Slytherin, her relationship with the Potter's crumbled, and she was forced to find family in other places. Perhaps th...

September 2, 1973 - Sunday
The next morning, Leonora was jolted awake by loud banging echoing throughout the room. She groaned, burying her face into her pillow. This wasn't the peaceful start to her first day at Hogwarts she had hoped for.
Sitting up, she stretched her arms above her head and rolled her neck to shake off the sleep. With a yawn, she slowly pulled back the curtains surrounding her bed. Peeking out into the small dormitory, she watched as the three other girls rushed around frantically, trying to get ready. A quiet snicker escaped from her lips as she watched the chaotic scene unfold.
The girl nearest to her, who was currently digging through the trunk at the foot of her own bed, paused at the sound of the faint snicker. She snapped her head around, locking eyes with Leonora in a sharp, unimpressed glare.
"It's about time you woke up," she said, annoyance lacing her words as she strode over to Leonora's bed. "You must be Leonora Potter. We didn't get the chance to introduce ourselves last night." Her voice was poised and practiced, clearly well-rehearsed. "I'm Thalia Lestrange. That's Illyria Malfoy" she added, gesturing gracefully toward the girl beside her, "and that," she paused, casting a pointed glare towards the third girl, "is Celeste Bennett. It's a pleasure." She extended a hand, waiting for Leonora to shake it.
Leonora reached a hand out to shake Thalia's, a polite smile on her face. While the name Bennett meant nothing to her, she had never heard it before, Lestrange and Malfoy rang loud and clear. Two families who were deeply tied to You-Know-Who and despised by the Potter's. Still, Leonora didn't want to rush to any judgment. They were still girls, much like herself, and she wasn't about to assume the worst solely based on their last names.
Thalia Lestrange was a tall girl with strikingly pale skin that made her bright blue eyes stick out. Her long, deep brown hair cascaded smoothly down the middle of her back, perfectly styled without a strand out of place. A faint scowl seemed permanently etched on her face, which Leonora couldn't figure out if it was her usual expression, or if she just didn't like her.
Illyria Malfoy was undeniably beautiful. She had blonde hair, though it wasn't the usual icy platinum typical of Malfoys, but a softer, more natural shade. She was pale with a healthy rosy glow to her cheeks, a stark contrast to Thalia's sickly appearance. Her grey eyes held a steady intensity and she quietly said hello.
Celeste Bennett's sleek, chestnut hair was woven into two neat braids that draped over her shoulders. Her eyes sparkled with warmth as she offered Leonora a genuine smile. She seemed like a breath of fresh air compared to the others girls.
"I haven't overslept, have I?" Leonora panicked, her eyes widening as she wondered if that was why the others were rushing around. Then, just as quickly, she reminded herself that it was Sunday and they didn't have any classes yet.
