Thalia Rivera had a boyfriend, Rohan Cordes love of her life since grade 9. Thalia had known and liked Rohan since grade 3 as well.
She was now in grade 11 and was surprised by the amount of time they had been together. She knew it had been going on for quite a while but she had no idea how much longer it was going to last......It was the last day of grade 11. One more year 'till Thalia, Rohan, Cole, Joy and the rest of their enormous friend group were out of the small suffocating high school that they bared through.
Thalia, Rohan, Joy and Cole were all outside talking on the stairs before the large doors that led to the main hallway of the school....... after the conversation slowed down Rohan walked up to Thalia, Thalia was good at reading people's emotions she knew he was nervous which made an anxiety rise in her.
"Let's go for a walk." he sighed.
Thalia waved goodbye happily to Joy and Cole. She knew Joy hated being left alone with Cole the two of them were awesome friends and no one understood Cole more than Joy but it was clear he had a crush on her and Joy made a promise to herself a while back that she wouldn't date 'till college or be "more than friends" with anyone.Thalia was in a great mood, which was about to be ruined.
Rohan and Thalia walked in silence around the school grounds. It had never been so awkward between the two. Rohan abruptly stopped, which startled her"Thalia I think we should...". Thalia felt an emptiness grow in her, the biggest tears welled in her eyes, knowing what he was saying. "I need to move on, write a new page in my life." Rohan gave her a sympathetic smile. she looked down at her wrist and pulled a bracelet off. She handed it to him, she couldn't make eye contact though. He looked at it reading the words "Rolia" he mumbled softly. Rohan sighed sadly shaking his head.
"Goodbye Thalia......... I hope you have a good summer." before she could say anything to him he took off.Thalia started to walk over to Cole and Joy but they ran to her first. Joy hugged her, and well Cole just put his head in his hands like he couldn't believe it.
"Rohan my guy, but I've never known him to be like this," Cole said in disbelief.
"Want me to punch him" Thalia heard Joy say "Oh no that's fine, I don't need him to hate me as well" Cole, Joy and Thalia laughed though really it wasn't funny. The bell rang, Joy helped Thalia clean up her makeup and tried to hype Thalia up, getting her in a good mood but it didn't work. They all headed inside for English class, the one class that Thalia thankfully didn't share with Rohan. They went inside the class and had a short and easy grammar test then since it was the last day of school they got a block of free time Thalia wasn't sure what to do though normally she and Rohan would hang out but they wouldn't be hanging out for a long time. The people in Thalia's class were Cole, Joy, herself, Ryan, and multiple others she didn't care to pay attention to and worst of them all Lucas. When Thalia was in grade 6, years and years ago her friends had this really stupid joke that she had a crush on Lucas even though he was and is her sworn enemy. Thalia couldn't concentrate on anything she just thought back to that moment all of their moments.
Thalia headed to an empty table with Joy, Cole, Ryan and sadly Lucas. Lucas asked Thalia "Hey I heard about you and Rohan, how are you feeling?" Thalia was very surprised by the fact that Lucas was being nice to her but decided that it was because he felt bad for her. "I'm ok, not great" she replied. All her friends looked at her sadly. "Hey," said Ryan "I just realized something important" "What?" said Thalia, Joy, Lucas and Cole at the same time, they all laughed and then looked at Ryan. "So we're all friends right?, well Rohan is also our friend." "Yo dude, just hurry it up, we don't have all day" Cole yelled at Ryan "Ok... sheesh. How are we all supposed to hang out if it's awkward between Thalia and Rohan?" "Guys, it's fine we just need a little break from each other, we're staying friends," Thalia assured the group. The bell rang for the second last period before summer! The group all headed their separate ways to their last elective class, band for Thalia, Joy and Lucas, and Art for the rest of them.
The rest of the school day passed pretty quickly, and then a bunch of people from their grade went to the beach to celebrate the last day of school!
There were a lot of people there, Thalia, Joy, Ryan, Lucas, and Cole among others sadly including Rohan. They all went straight from school to the beach and all went in the water on 5 inflatable islands tied together! Thalia and Valeriia started to fight about whether Valeriia liked Ryan or not and it turned into an ENORMOUS water fight, with everyone getting pushed by each other into the lake. "Guys, how dare you do this to me." Thalia yelled to everyone, "Well you started it" Valeriia and Thalia started to fight till Cole and Joy pulled them apart. "Guys this is stupid and Thalia don't be so dramatic we're just having fun." Thalia knew Joy didn't mean to offend her. Joy said calmly to Thalia and Valeriia who were looking rudely at each other. The rest of the night passed fast, with a million or two water fights. Everyone headed home after a long day at 10:30 at night exhausted. Thalia walked home alone she couldn't focus on anything, her fight with Valeriia, Rohan, and how her actions were going to affect her summer.
