POV: Unknown
"I count at least 100 guards.", my friend and colleague says as he peers through his spyglass. "Explains why it took so long." I stated, he was never a fast counter. "He's either overcompensating or has severely underestimated us.", Matt says disregarding my attempt to poke fun at his lack of speed when it came to numbers sometimes. "Maybe we're the ones underestimating him, you never know with this guy." I say, considering just how much of a tricky, sneaky bastard Erebus can be. "We'll find out soon enough, let's move!".
Our army advances forward on foot, trekking through the tall grass shadowed by the tall trees bearing thick green leaves above. We proceed to take out all the guards. With a flick of the wrist and a pull of a string I release an arrow at an unsuspecting target, right to the skull. He drops instantly, but of course, that draws the attention of the other guards. So with a bit of back up we take them out as well. Same move, but this time I fire two arrows simultaneously. Both hit their respective targets right in the chest, and my team finishes what remains.
As I relocate and prepare to fire once more, I'm ambushed by 5 guards, all armed with swords and axes. The first charges at me, so I shoot an arrow at him, he dodges and goes in for a swing. I swiftly switch to my shield and block the hit and push him back. I then put away my bow and shield, take out two arrows, flipping them in my hands. "If it's a melee battle you want, you'll get one.", I say. They all proceed to charge at me, the first one throws his axe at me, I dodge and grab it before it can hit anything else. I then take the axe and slice his head clean off, watching the rest of him fall to the ground.
I then throw the axe at a swordsman, only for him to deflect such attack. I proceed to utilize my arrows, dodging his swings and kicking his sword up into the air. I then shove both arrows into his eyes and use them to throw him towards the other three, making sure to hold on tight so that the arrows don't go with him.
The sword I kicked up earlier finally falls and impales one of the attackers as he gets up, so the other two rush me. The first gets a hit in with the edge of his blade, cutting my arm, so I roundhouse kick him into a tree and throw one of my arrows like a dart, right into his neck, making him bleed out. The last one drops his sword and runs, so I take three arrows and cock my bow. WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH, THUD, is all that can be heard as the arrows hit his head, back, and ass, making him drop dead instantly. I temporarily put away my bow, and regroup with my team.
"All good here?" I asked, looking around at all the dead bodies, "Yeah, piece of cake." one of my teammates responds. (On comms) Lieutenant Commander Andre, come in Andre! Sir? You have multiple Hellfire missiles coming your way, get you and your team out of there now!
Copy!"Everybody fall back, enemy missiles inbound!"
I shout as loud as humanly possible. Everybody starts running back the way we came, but not fast enough. KABOOM, was all I could hear before I got blasted back onto the edge of a cliff.I regain consciousness not long after, my ears ringing. I look around and see nothing but fire, shrapnel, and a lot of burnt up dead soldiers. The shield on my back kept my backside protected, but the same cannot be said about the rest of the team.
I search for Matt, only to find him burnt bleeding out, taking slow, labored breaths. I come to his side, I know he's going to die, but I'd rather not think about it. He grabs my hand and whispers for me to come closer. "K-kill that arrogant, e-evil bastard, by any means n-n-necessary." "I will avenge you old friend, if it's the last thing I do." He cracks a smile, and then lets out his dying breath. My eyes narrow, I clutch my bow in my hand, I know what must be done.
I check for any other survivors, eventually coming to the conclusion that I'm the only one. With my bow in hand, I rush into the fortress we had been fighting so hard to invade.
Once inside, a voice I recognize all too well resonates within the walls. "Well well well, look who finally made it in. You know, if it's any consolation, I was hoping the missiles wouldn't kill you, I wanted to do that myself." "Erebus, I will kill you, and then blow this place sky high." I stated, with a fury raging within me. "Funny, I had the exact same idea, only it'll be you 6 feet under the rubble, HRRRAHH."
He charges me with his hammer dragging behind, so I fire a couples arrows his way. He dodges them all using his hammer, then slams it in the ground, knocking me back into a wall. He then comes in for a swing, but I duck and give him a punch to the gut and the face. He backs up, temporarily discombobulated, and I take the chance the initiate the self destruct sequence. I can't finish in time though, because he swings his hammer into my left shoulder, dislocating it. I yell in pain as he grabs me by the head and slams me into a wall, repeatedly.
" YOU THINK YOU CAN STOP THIS, YOU THINK YOU CAN STOP ME? YOU ARE NOTHING, I WILL BECOME A GOD, AND NOBODY WILL STOP ME, NOT EVEN YOU."He throws me onto the ground, getting ready to shatter my skull into hundreds of pieces. I roll over just in time, dodging the hammer as it slams down onto the stone.
Still laying down, I relocate my shoulder and charge my bow up to its max, now it's flaming. "Shut up and burn in hell." I say as I release the arrow. This one he doesn't dodge, for his hammer is stuck in the stone. He takes it right to the chest, and his body instantly catches fire. His armor doesn't do much to help either. I take this chance to light the TNT. Once I finish I look at him, he does the same, and charges. I do the same, but then I jump up and kick him in the head. I come back down and bombard him with a series of moves that knock him out.
Once he was down on the ground, I drag him to the edge of the cliff, stand him up, and throw an arrow right into his mouth, kicking it in even further. That kick simultaneously sends him back, falling off the cliff and into the abyss below.
I put on my elytra and take out some fireworks, and fly off the edge of the cliff just as the fortress behind me explodes. "Erebus is no more." I said to myself.
At least, that's what I thought....
