Chp 6 | The Mole & The Marauder II

We suit up, grabbing all of our supplies. I grab my bow and both my crossbows, along with plenty of arrows. I then don my stealth suit, most of it anyway, because in place of the chest plate is my elytra, with the rockets for it in my inventory. The sounds of everyone scrambling to either leave the building or attempting to stop its assailant fill my ears as I watch Ronin don enchanted diamond armor, and grab an enchanted great sword to match. We're ready.
IB: "Where's the vault?"

R: "Below this building, unless you have special access you'd have to dig under it, and even then getting into it is almost impossible."

IB: "So someone's blowing a hole straight to it, fantastic."

R: "Like I said, the vault is almost impossible to get into, it's made of obsidian, which should give us enough time to stop our thief."

IB: "Let's go then. We need to find the hole's opening, I'll check the outside."

R: "And I'll check the inside, or end up having to dig."

We part, he runs out the rooms entrance and I break a glass and jump out the window. I use a rocket to boost myself and fly around the building, looking for any sign of an explosion. Sure enough, I find one, and use one more rocket to speed dive down into the opening. My landing isn't smooth, but I'm fine. I catch the thief in the act. "Hold it right there bastard. Drop all your items and back away from them, slowly." I say as I point my crossbow at him. "Alright you got me, SIKE! Choke on sand IceBolt!" he says as he lifts a staff in the air and summons sand blocks above me. I'm not quick enough to react, and get hit by one, disorienting me long enough for him to escape.

Ronin digs his way down and finds me on the ground. He dusts me off and helps me up. "What's with the sand?" he asks, "Our thief has magic staffs." I say in a disappointed tone. "Come on, we gotta catch up to him before he makes off with that command block!" I yell as I fly out of the tunnel. I fly up into the sky for a birds eye view, looking for our thief. I find him running down the street, a bit fast than a normal human. From the air I use my multishot enchanted crossbow and fire down upon him. This effectively slows him down, and I dive bomb into him. I use a rocket to signal Ronin, and it doesn't take him long to meet up with me.
R: "Hand it over Jackson."

IB: "And we might just take a couple hours off your sentence."

J: "Heheh, how about no. You may not believe it, but I've got the upper hand here boys. Something's coming, and you won't be able to stop it.

Just as he says that, he places down a yellow block with red markings on it. He then proceeds to hit us and uses one of his staffs to summon wither skeletons. "He's going to milk the hell outta those staffs!" I say as I fight off the horde. "No shit, and now he's getting away." Ronin adds as he finishes the remain skeletons. It's not over yet though, because we soon hear a loud swooshing sound. "MISSLE!!" Ronin yells. Ronin runs the opposite way as fast as he can, and I fly upwards to avoid its blast. After it hits, I fly down to meet Ronin. "You alright?" I ask as I watch him recover. "Peachy." he says in a sarcastic tone. "How the hell are we gonna catch them now. Erebus is on horse and Jackson has turned into Reverse Flash. They've probably already made the exchange by now." He says in frustration. "Cool ya jets, I have a plan. Aerial assault, I can rain fire on them from above, split them up, slow em down. Divide and conquer." I respond. Ronin nods and starts taking off in the direction they went, as I take to the skies.

Not long after I spot them trying to take the bridge out of the main city. I take out my multi shot enchanted crossbow and shoot three arrows right in front of them. I reload and shoot again, this time hitting Jackson and Erebus' horse. After two more shots I end up killing the horse, which slows down Erebus and makes them split up. Just as planned. I fly down to Ronin's eye level. "Think you can get the command block back?" I ask him, "No, but I do think I can stop Erebus." he replies. With that, we split up, him chasing Erebus, and me searching for the traitor.

Outskirts | Ronin's POV
Erebus is closing in on the bridge that leads out of the city, I've gotta stop him. I run a bit faster, placing blocks below me with each jump to further increase my speed. Once I'm close enough, I hit him with my sword, making him stumble and drop the command block. He turns and faces me.
E: "And here I was expecting a real fighter, not a hired gun, or sword in your case."
