Three months later, Jack, Shelly, Lillian, and a few other girls were hanging out at lunch period together and they all had a relaxing time, Jack and Shelly were holding hands. One of the girls suddenly, out of nowhere asked, "So Jack, when are you gonna kiss Shelly?" He looked at the girl, stunned by her question and turned away blushing when he looked at Shelly. Shelly was looking at Jack with eyes that said, "Just kiss me baby."

Jack was too smart for his own good and looked into her eyes and discovered what she was thinking. He avoided looking at everyone until lunch was just about over and waited till Shelly was walking alone and gently pulled her away from the crowd. The girls noticed Jack and also stood away from the crowd, watching at a distance.

He gazed into her eyes with a deep passion, he hooked his arm across her hip and he kissed her. At first, Shelly was nervous so she turned away the first time he attempted to kiss her, but then looked into Jack's eyes as deeply as he was looking into hers and kissed.

The kiss lasted for about three seconds ending with Shelly pulling away from Jack with an expression of satisfaction, excitement, and happiness. Jack had been meaning to kiss her for a while but didn't have the guts to do it until now. He feels proud as he jokes about the kiss with Shelly's friends, walking down the hallway to class.

About a week and a half later he and Shelly were alone and she was telling about her family. She said,"I live with my grandma, she's very strict and doesn't want me dating but, Oh well.", with a wink. Jack chuckles and says,"That's funny, because my mom doesn't want me dating either."

Seeing as how they're so similar, their bond strengthens a little as they hold hands and embrace each other. "I love you." Jack says. Shelly replies with a,"I love you too." It seems as though their bond couldn't be broken by anything.

Things were going well for the next few months, nothing changed, they were always together, although not always talking...

Things started to go downhill once it was almost a year since they were dating. Although Jack was under the assumption that everything was going well still, but Shelly felt like she wasn't getting the spark she once had when she was around him... Given the fact that it was his first love, he was still ignorant about how to keep her happy, so he was heartbroken, confused, and angry when he received a note from her saying,"I'm sorry Jack, but its over. I don't feel that flame that I once felt when I was with you, you are so sociable when you're with your friends, but you never say a word when we're spending time together. So I'm breaking up with you, I'm sorry."

Jack, now sobbing on the inside, spent the next two months sad, depressed, feeling lonely, and he felt as though the raincloud that always seems to keep him company wasn't ever going to go away.

Fed up and tired of this sinking feeling of depression,he begins to think optimistically. He tries to fill his thoughts with the fact that now he has one less person to worry about. As he's thinking, the tenacious raincloud gradually begins to disappear. A month later he's starting to feel like his old self again and tries not to think about his past mistake, the mistake that had him hit rock bottom.

After the emotional, horrendous turn of events, he hides himself in his thoughts until he regaines his emotional confidence back and tries to live his life the way he used to, single.

Everything has an expiration date... And for Jack, well, he just didn't think the date would've probably been his last for a while...
The word, "goodbye" flows to his mind every time he thinks of his now ex-girlfrind.
