March 2048, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan

"There was before you and there was during you.
For some reason, I never thought there would be an after you. But there was, and I was in it.
I'll be in it forever."

While I'm busy munching on my popcorn, it's crazy to watch Dada go around the house trying to fix everything. To which, I must add.. is unnecessary, because everything looks good already.

"Dada? Do you want to calm down?"
'I am calm. I just want everything to be perfect, baka mag tampo ang Mami mo kapag may magulo dito sa bahay'

My sixty nine year old father is so bothered about the nonexistent "gulo dito sa bahay", all because Mami is coming home. Isn't he cute?

'Baby? Flowers ni Mami?'
"All taken care of, Dada. Just tell me when you're done pacing around so we can go. We can't be late, our schedule is pretty strict, 1pm, remember?"

And that's all I have to say before he started to get anxious about us being late.

Oh boy! Look at what love can do.

Dada keeps smiling as we travel to this all familiar road. It's so familiar that I can drive around even with my eyes closed.

"Excited, Dada?"
'Very much. She told me before, na ako ang susundo sa kanya and here I am, keeping that promise. I'm just so excited anak, finally uuwi na ang Mami mo'

I take Dada's hand because I know, old as he is.. he will still be needing support for later. Because today, the promise that he made to Mami twenty four years ago will either make or break him.

It doesn't take long before we arrive here in Tagaytay, thank goodness for the light traffic.

And here we are.

Adoration Convent of Divine Mercy.

This is where Mami stayed for the last twenty four years.

As we enter the church, I once again see that petition box. You get to write your prayer and petition addressed to the Pink Sisters in hope that they will be granted.

I lost count how many times I wrote here.
It's always me and Dada.
But I know that my prayer has not changed all throughout the years.

It's not even a prayer.. more like a petty request of a daughter to her mother.

"Miss ko na cookies mo, Mami. When po ulit?"

Dada used to laugh at me whenever I would drop mine at the box. But let me tell you, it's working like magic!

With the little money that she has, Mami would send me her cookies through a courier.

After signing our names to the security log, we are ushered into a room where we will be waiting for Mami.
