It just seemed too perfect.

The sun peeked through Amber's nearly closed curtains. They shined down on the bed to create an invasive pattern of sunlight. Usually, Tara would let out a complain but right now. . . she didn't have a single complaint that came to mind.

Tara watched as Amber's body moved to her breathing from behind her. She couldn't get the smile off of her face. Her eyes stared at the back of Amber's t-shirt which had lists of tour dates for whatever band it was. Amber's long hair sprawled across the pillows.

Tara had all right to reach over and soothe it out for the girl but retracted her hands just in case she was going too far too fast. It felt like a slippery slope. Tara didn't want anything to get ruined again.

There was the light snores Amber had let out that filled the room. Tara had found it adorable. It brought her back to the moment when Amber had teased her about her snoring. . . who's the one snoring now?

Again, it felt too perfect. Even the small breeze of air settling in from the partially cracked open window didn't seem to bug her. Her body still felt warm underneath the covers of the other girl's bed.

Tara made one more small glance towards Amber and then grabbed her phone off of the end table.

Amber shifted in her sleep.

Last night with her friends was fun. . . apart from the argument that bursted out mid hangout that left a dreading feeling on Tara's heart. She had forgiven Mindy, but the embarrassment lingered around her. Everyone in her friend group knew what Amber had done. Wanting to have kept it a secret, Tara swallowed deeply when she looked at her own post on Instagram which depicted a perfect night between friends.

Monopoly, drinking, everyone smiling the photos.

She wasn't one to post on social media that much, but last night she noticed her profile was feeling a little bit too bare.

The sense of coziness and comfort seemed to transform in her stomach when the comments on her post didn't go unnoticed. Of course, there were the normal ones from her friends. One from Sam, who had made a very angry comment about the drinking - wouldn't be surprised if Tara gets an angry call later in the day. And one from Quinn.

Tara's nose had scrunched up in confusion while her thumb tapped on the screen to give it a little heart. But it did feel nice to have her insecurities lightened a bit, especially from the girl who was causing them.

Amber had shifted once more, finally awake. She had let out a tired yawn from her nap. This caused Tara to turn her phone away from the older girl next to her.

"Dude, I could hear you snoring in my sleep," Amber grumbled out tiredly when she faced Tara with her exhausted expression.

"I'm pretty sure that was you." Tara tossed her phone to the side.

Amber gave her an uneven smile and made Tara's heart warm up. The girl's tattooed fingers reached out to brush the bangs out of the brunette's face. "I thought you weren't going to be here when I woke back up."

"I'm here."

"I'm glad I left the note on the counter," Amber whispered out in honesty although it was just the two of them.
