This was it. This was Thornpelt's moment. The sounds of battle raged around him. His eyes scanned the large crowd of SunClan and AshClan cats until he saw Echoheart and Flowerstar fighting. His plan had gone perfectly, during the gathering Echoheart and her group of allies had attacked SunClan camp, he got Flowerstar to lead the Clan back in a rush and now Echoheart was attacking Flowerstar.

He could see Flowerstar bleeding from a nasty bite wound on her shoulder. It's time. Thornpelt charged forward, attacking Echoheart and clawing at her pelt. She quickly ran away and vanished into the crowd. "She ran off easy..." Flowerstar said through heavy breaths. "Thank you, Thornpelt."

"My pleasure." He replied, his claws itching for more, but not here. "Come with me, Flowerstar, that wound is bad."

"It's fine." She argued. "I've fought with worse."

"Just come with me--I'm worried that it's worse than it looks. Trust me, please." He gave her a pleading look, knowing it would very well work on her." The leader hesitated a moment but nodded.

"Fine..." She hesitated but followed him out of the camp. He knew that Dawnfire had told her about him, but she was still so blinded by her feelings for him that she didn't listen. And it will be your downfall, Flowerstar. He said, knowing that by the end of the day he would be leader of SunClan.

Ever since Flowerstar became leader he had kept count of each of her nine lives carefully, he was certain she only had two left and those two would be taken by him tonight. He led her to the Moss Hollow. When they reached the hollow she looked around confused. "Thornpelt, why are we here?"

"Because I needed you out of the battle." They were alone. There was no need to keep this act up. "

"I'm not even hurt that bad, I should be fighting!" Flowerstar argued.

"No, you're not hurt that bad. Not yet."

"Thornpelt what are you--" No more stalling. Just as he did with Falconclaw, Thornpelt moved before she could even blink. Thornpelt shot forward with the speed of an adder. His teeth met Flowerstar's throat and he sank them deep into her flesh, she couldn't even cry out as her blood flooded his muzzle. He threw her down to the floor and took a step back, watching her bleed out. Her eyes were wide, frozen in horror and betrayal. He looked away, unable to stomach her gaze as she died. With any luck he wounded her badly enough to take both lives.

"Traitor!" He heard a shrill cry and saw a golden-brown blur as Dawnfire was suddenly on his shoulder, he felt her claws sinking into his pelt and both of them fell to the ground. He quickly recovered and faced his former apprentice with rage burning in his eyes. I can take care of this pest too.

"You idiot!" He spat, letting out a laugh as he no longer had anything else to hide. "Now I get to kill you both!" He watched as Dawnfire launched herself towards him. He knew her weak spot was the shoulder she had gotten wounded so many times so he went for there, sinking his teeth deep into her flesh. He could feel her claws shredding his flesh as she raked them down his side, he certainly underestimated her, but she would still lose.

He used his larger weight to press her down and overpower her, slamming her onto her back. He could feel her claws digging into his belly and he winced, but it wasn't enough to stop him. He would put a stop to her once and for all. "You should've have just let me do this, Dawnfire." He growled, feeling his own mental stability slipping away. "But now....now you're going to die and no one is here to save you! Cry to StarClan all you want, cry for your stupid parents because you'll be joining them soon!"

He set his gaze on her throat, ready to rip it open just as he had done to Flowerstar. Before he could move any further, he was suddenly thrown against the back wall of the moss hollow, his body falling to the ground. He lifted his head in rage and saw Lionclaw standing in front of Dawnfire, amber eyes filled with rage.
