As soon as Arden saw the inside of the hospital, the small girl knew exactly where she was. Her eyes widened in fear as she tried to wiggle out of Taylor's grip. When Taylor wouldn't let go, but actually held on tighter, Arden started kicking Taylor with her small legs, hoping the woman would let go. When Taylor did put her down, Arden started flailing around her non-broken arm and pulling at Taylor's hair.
"Hey, mom, Arden is getting a little cranky, I'm going to go calm her down over in that corner," Taylor said, pointing to a corner and walking over to it.
Taylor walks over and sits in the small chair and cradles Arden, rocking her back and forth. Taylor's worry grows as Arden's cries and screams get louder and more frantic and painful.
"Hey, honey, what's wrong?" Taylor asks.
"Away!" the small girl cries.
"Away from here?" Taylor asks to clarify her confusion.
The three year old nods but continues to kick and cry in fear and anger. She trusted Taylor and Taylor brought her to a hospital without even asking her! Taylor takes a deep breath before trying to explain the girl why she's here.
"You see this hand over here?" Taylor asks, pointing to Arden's broken hand, "Yeah, that one. It has a boo-boo on it. These nice people are going to fix it."
Arden looks at Taylor in confusion before starting to scream and cry again, catching the attention of many other patients. Taylor looks around to see people taking pictures and videos making her rush over to her mother and cover up the girl. Luckily the nurse takes them inside to give them a bit of privacy while they calm down the girl.
"Mom, she won't calm down," Taylor sighs, exhausted from trying to calm down the girl.
Andrea pulls to small girl into her arms and rocks her back and forth slowly, not paying attention to the girl's screams. After twenty minutes of the same back and forth motion over and over again, Arden fell asleep, tired from all the tears and wails.
"Mom, Tree's calling me, she says it's really urgent. Can you accompany her to the x-ray and I'll be back after?"
After Andrea agrees, Taylor heads out into another private room to talk with Tree. As Tree started speaking, her voice was very tense and she was clearly panicking.
"Taylor, someone spotted you with a small kid and followed you to the hospital. There are people surrounding the building and some even in it, trying to find you guys. There are articles about a shit ton of stuff and I'm trying to get them down but I don't know how to keep stopping them from being published, there are already hundreds of them. Right now just please stay with your family and don't come out the back of the hospital until we get security," Tree advises.
"I saw people taking photos of Arden, that's her name, I just thought maybe they'd be more considerate," Taylor sighed, rubbing her forehead.
"You're Taylor Swift, just please stay in the back for now," Tree responds.
Andrea walks into the room, interrupting the phone call with very important news, "Taylor, we need you, she has a nasty bruises from falling and her arm is broken but she refuses to let them lift up her shirt to see the bruise. She's cranky and won't stop crying for you."
"Tree, I'll call you in a couple minutes or hours when I get a chance," Taylor says, walking back with her mother.
Rushing to Arden's side, Taylor found her engulfed by a hospital bed, her tiny frame surrounded by medical equipment. Kneeling beside the bed, Taylor gently brushed the hair away from Arden's forehead, hoping the gentle touch will help the small girl find some comfort. Despite the pain and fear, Arden smiled at the sight of Taylor, finding comfort in her presence.
"Hi there, baby, it's going to be okay," Taylor cooed.
"Shirt on, Taylor, on!" Arden cried, fresh tears streaming down her face.
As Taylor reassured Arden and promised to keep her shirt on, she turned to the doctors with a pleading expression. "Could you please give us a couple of hours ? Arden's scared right now, and she needs some time with me," Taylor asked.
"Of course, Ms. Swift. We'll give you some privacy, we will be back in a couple hours," one of the doctors said before quietly exiting the room with the others.
With the room now quiet and without any intimidating people, in Arden's point of view, the small girl started to calm down a little bit more, her breathing starting to become normal and less tense again.
"It's just you and me now, sweetheart," Taylor murmured, leaning in close to Arden. She gently wiped away the tears on the girl's cheeks and held her hand tightly. "I won't let anything happen to you. You're safe with me."
I have this one too....
