the call

The girls were already waiting in the dance studio. Every week they hired it for 2 hours. Sometimes more if they wanted to practice a solo or if they wanted to practice longer. Yasmine went in as the last.

"Ya, you're the leader, shouldn't you be the first to arrive?" Miranda scolded her.

"Sorry, I'm just a little bit sleepy."

"Ooh, someone has been chatting until late," Soraya teased her.

Yasmine started to blush. "It wasn't that late..." she played with her fingers.

"Well, it was distracting enough to miss our call," Tisha winked.

The girls went to sit in a circle. Yasmine kept a list of songs.

"Well, since we did DNA and it was a real success on YouTube and TikTok, we should pick another song." The girls nodded.

"And I also want to do a solo song," Yasmine added.

"Something sexy and girly, so if anyone has ideas, then please shoot." "I heard 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' from Blackpink is a bop at the moment. We can do that as a group?" Maybelle suggested.

Yasmine nodded. "Sounds good to me. Since I wanted to do a solo, maybe the four of you can do Blackpink, and I will focus on my solo. Does anyone else want a solo?"

Miranda raised her hand. "I have something to say."

Yasmine nodded while the other girls were watching Miranda. They were all ears.

"I quit. I have an offer from a big company that wants to recruit me as their dance teacher."

The girls were left speechless.

Some even opened their mouths in surprise.

"I... uhm, I understand..." Yasmine stuttered.

They didn't see that coming.

Miranda smiled. "Well then, thank you for those years." She stood up. "I'm leaving now, okay."

Miranda's departure left the girls in disbelief, as evidenced by Tisha's remark about its suddenness. The lack of a proper goodbye, especially from someone they considered a friend and teammate, only added to their confusion and hurt.

Soraya's grumble hinted at her frustration and possibly feeling slighted by Miranda's abrupt exit, which seemed to lack consideration for their feelings.

With a sense of unease lingering after Miranda's departure, Yasmine suggested ending their meeting for the day, proposing they reconvene later to discuss further. The girls, still processing the situation.

Yasmine was home alone again since her parents were always busy with work.

It was fine. She felt like she didn't want to see them anyway.

Yasmine ordered a pizza.

When the pepperoni pizza finally arrived, she finally had the courage to check out the group chat.

Yasmine felt a mix of emotions after Miranda's sudden departure, adding to her confusion and frustration.

Seeing Ian's message bubble brought a slight smile to her face, offering a sense of comfort in having someone to talk to.

However, her attempt to respond was interrupted when she accidentally called Ian, likely due to her teary eyes. This moment underscored Yasmine's vulnerability and the intensity of her emotions following Miranda's departure.

The moment she realized it, she tried to hang up.

"Oh fuck no no no no," Yasmine whined to herself.

"Are you okay? I hear you sort of crying." ~Ian
