They had been friends for one year before any incident occurred. Honestly both were surprised it hasn't happened sooner, seeing as both Vi and Caitlyn always get into some sort of small incidents whenever they are together.
They had been at the park, digging around in the sandpit. They had a mission to build the biggest pit they could, and either reach the bottom of the Sandpit, or make it deep enough that neither could escape. They were giggling softly and telling each other jokes as they dug, the hole being only a couple inches wide and about a foot deep, when the sounds of footsteps, and the shadow falling over them, had them looking up to the newcomer. Caitlyn watched as Vi's face fell into a scowl and she stood up to her full height, raising a eyebrow. Gone was the sweet girl Caitlyn knew, and here was the tough brawler act Vi uses to survive.
The newcomer only glared back at Vi, neither making a move and trying to stare the other down. Caitlyn slowly climbed out of the hole, and stand beside Vi, gaining the attention of the newcomer. "Oh? What's this? You some kinda pet now Violet?" Vi did not respond, only moving to cover Caitlyn from the newcomers View. "Aw are you a little puppy for the Piltie Vi?" "Shut up Deckard. what the hell do you want." Vi's tone was serious, demanding the newcomer to either shut the hell up or just go away. Being told to shut up and getting called his name seemed to have pissed off the newcomer enough to finally react and shove Vi backwards. Vi stumbling slightly, but stood strong, ducking underneath the next punch and jabbing her own puch into his stomach. Deckard had gasped out a wheeze, bending over to gain his breath back as Vi swung again, knocking him back further away, though took the punch to her chest and face in earnest. she grabbed his arm and twisted it around, getting a squeal of pain from the other kid and throwing him to the ground once more, the sand providing a slight cushion for his fall. As Vi stood above him, she didn't see him reach down and grab a handful of sand, though as Caitlyn went to warn her. she wasn't fast enough as Deckard flung the handful of sand at Vi's eyes, effectively blinding the brawler. While Vi was trying to clear her eyes, Deckard got up and pushed her harshly back again before aiming a punch to her chest, all three kids hearing a crack, and Vi gasping out in pain. As she stumbled back to get space between them so she could counter, she was again thrown off balance and a sharp pain in her ankle as she stepped into the whole they just made. She cried out as she lost balance and fell back, hitting her head on the sand and biting her tongue hard.
Deckard just scoffed and glared at the fallen brawler. "You'll always be weak Vi, no matter how hard you try you'll Never win." With a final kick to her foot he turned and left, leaving Vi stunned in the sand and Caitlyn anxiously hovering above her. "Vi? Oh god Vi.. Hey hey its okay its just me.." Caitlyn had crouched down by the head of the brawler, gently touching her face to move her bangs away, dodging the weak punches the other shot at her. Vi recognized her voice through the soft ringing in her ears and she let out another involuntary whimper. "Vi... Don't move okay? I'm going to get my dad.." Not waiting for Vi to answer her Caitlyn got up and ran off towards her house. She was eternally grateful she lived so close to her and Vi's favorite park as she flung open the door, "DAD! DAD!" Quick footsteps warned caitlyn before both of her parents rounded the corner, worry and fear in their eyes. Seeing Caitlyn was unharmed they seemed to have relax. "Caitlyn Kiramann what is the meaning with the yelling?" Her mother asked softly, confused on why her daughter was so desperate. "Vi's hurt! can you please help her?" Caitlyn said turning to her dad, who simply nodded. "Yes of course Caitlyn, where is she?" "A-at the park.. I didn't want to move her..." Tobias nodded, getting up to grab his things before motoning Caitlyn to lead the way.
Vi was in the same position Caitlyn left her in, and Caitlyn was extremely grateful that she didn't seem any more hurt. Gently touching Vi's arm got her a twist and a soft "Cait...?" In response. "Yep it's me Vi, I got my dad and he will help you I promise.." Vi only gave a faint nod, as Caitlyn's father started talking softly. "Hello Vi, let's get you checked out okay?" Vi once again gave a soft nod, her eyesight slowly returning to see Caitlyn and Tobias in front of her. "What's the injurious?" "i think i bit my tongue.. snapped or cracked rib.. maybe fractured ankle?" Vi said groaning softy as Tobias started touching he ribcage. "luckily for you its only fractured, but it will hurt for the next couple days kiddo. lets sit you up carefully, so i can wrap your ribs okay?" Vi nodded, and stifle a cry of pain as Tobias gently lifted her upper body up. "you might also have a concussion so dont fall asleep yet okay?" Vi nodded once more, feeling the pain of a headache pulsing. she actually yelled out in pain as Tobias started moving her ankle, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "broken.. its just gonna need a cast, and xray so i can see what is broken.. but everything else seems okay. Cmon kiddo, let's get you to the clinic so i can finish you up."
when everything was wrapped up and V was on heavy drugs, Caitlyn finally relaxed. Vi was safe and on the right track for healing, though neither Tobias nor Caitlyn wanted Vi to go back to the Orphanage. "Vi, while you heal you'll live with us okay? we have plenty of room, and i dont want you having to worry about the other kids in the home okay?" Vi only nodded, thankful that she wouldn't have to worry about fighting for food, or trying to stay on her feet. Caitlyn sat beside Vi, grateful her friend was on the right track for healing. "thank you for protecting me.." Caitlyn said softly, putting a hand on Vi's good knee, who smiled softly. "anytime Cupcake, would do it again in a heartbeat."
