Chapter 11
Free therapy

Smacking her lips in distaste, Y/n eyed the rim of the coffee cup she'd just pulled away from her lips--

"Did you even put anything in this??" Y/n asked, her gaze now pointed towards her sister leaning against the counter not too far from where she sat in the kitchen. Placing the mug down on the wooden table, the woman subconsciously placed out of reach.

"It's just black," Willow replied plainly, all while taking a sip from her own mug. Watching as her younger sisters face twisted in disgust, Willow could only roll her eyes. "Don't waste it, you know coffee isn't cheap round' here. Nothing is."

"Mhmm," Y/n nodded along with clear disinterest, her gaze cutting to the mug on the table only for a second before landing back on Willow.

Curly tresses messily thrown up in a bun, an oversized hoodie that most likely belonged to her husband paired with loose joggers-- Willow looked as if she just rolled out of bed. Similar to Y/n, who was still dressed in her pyjamas matched with her own nest of bedhead hair.

"So, how's everything been?" Y/n questioned, drumming her fingers on the corner of the wooden table.

Placing her cup down behind her Willow crossed her arms over her chest which raised slightly as she sighed. Lips stretching in a small smile her shoulders raised with a shrug.

"Honestly, Great. Works' been good, Ren's been good. Mom's still here." Turning her head to the side Willow glanced out the window positioned behind her, having to squint her eyes a bit as the sun rays poured through the blinds. "It's still quiet and slow here but I'm starting to appreciate it."

"Quiet and slowness?" Y/n tilted her head slightly, tease lacing her tone.

"Yes Y/n. Quiet and slowness. And don't even because I know thats a reason why you came back here."

Quiet and slow.

There was never anything big going on in the small village, with the day being just as still as the night. Which honestly made for a dreadful childhood in Y/n's case, a polar opposite from her sister who had always taking a liking to the lifestyle.

When Y/n left to take on the life of a jujutsu sorcerer, it did take a while for her to adjust to the much faster paced lifestyle. But Willow was right, with all the obstacles that had been thrown her way and the hardships she endured, what Y/n needed more than anything was to take a step back from it all.

The place where everything seemed to always stand still.

"I bet Satoru would loose his mind if he had to stay here for a day." Willow jested, curiously, her gaze fixed back onto her sister to gauge her reaction. Her heart warming slightly noticing the smile that surfaced through Y/n's features immediately after.

"mmm I think he would like it actually?" Brows scrunching slightly, Y/n spoke quizzically as if she were unsure herself. "Maybe to stay for like a day or two, nothing longer than that though. Haha~"

"Lets be real, He'd go anywhere as long as you're there too." Willow scoffed playfully, taking another sip from her black coffee.

"Yeah. I don't know about that one." The words fell from Y/n's lips without much thought, pressing into a thin line awkwardly.

"Please, the man is obsessed with you. I'm just surprised he didn't materialized out of thin air here yet."

It was Y/n's turn to cross her arms over her chest now, eyes wondering to the wall taking in the framed pictures that decorated it.

"I did tell him I need a break."

Walking over from the kitchen, Willow pulled the chair across from Y/n. Sitting down she gently placed her mug on the table before crossing her leg over the other, fingers intertwining over her bent knee.

"Big argument?" Brown eyes meeting with familiar e/c ones, the contact was only held for what felt like a second as Y/n's gaze quickly fell to the wooden surface.

"Plural." Her usual upright posture cracked as her shoulders fell, "if that's what you would call yelling at a brick wall." Fidgeting in her spot, for some reason Y/n felt a sense of shame creeping up on her as she spilled the troubles of her marriage.

"Its like... I've always known Satoru could have his ways sometimes." Y/n trailed off in thought for a moment, "but he's been shut down for so long I just can't-- it's like he doesn't even want to be helped."

Just speaking about it Y/n could envision the moments she loosely spoke about. His figure looming over her like a shadow, eyes shielded by his dark blindfold and cloaked emotions. The corner of his lips not even twitching at her words, instead remaining downturned adding to his miserable demeanour.

"It might be---" Y/n's breath got caught in her throat for a second, because she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that things had gotten to this point. Never would she have imagined from the day she and Satoru tied the knot things would end up like this.

As a jujutsu sorcerer, she imagined the worst.

Her tragically passing and leaving her husband behind, or maybe the other way around. Even worse, the possibility of leaving a child behind without their parents.

But never did she even consider this.

Even though it sounded so corny and she would never say it out loud she loved (loves) staring into her husbands eyes.

Not because of the sacred ability they held, but because of the raw emotion he never filtered whenever he was in her presence.

Content, sadness, frustration, adoration.

Now he always wore that stupid blindfold.

"--might be over."

Y/n was tired of crying, so even when her body shook instinctively at her words, tears immediately springing to her eyes she blinked them back. Chewing the inside of her cheek in attempt to stop her lips from wobbling pathetically.

"Oh, Y/n." Discomfort clawed at Willow's chest, seeing her sister fight back her tears. The protective side of her wanted to react with anger, retaliation, make a bunch of threats she for sure couldn't back up. Still, she knew that wouldn't solve anything, and she knew that isn't what her sister needed right now.

Wrapping her arms around herself, a habit she'd taken up recently, Y/n tucked her chin into her chest. Shutting her eyes tightly, briefly, she refused to let her cheeks to grow wet with tears.

"You can't just hold it all in," Willow broke the building silence, "that isn't what you came here to do." Walking to stand in front of her sister, the older woman encased Y/n in her arms. A hand to her back while the other to her head, fingers gently massaging her scalp.

Y/n kept her arms wrapped around herself protectively, but she turned her head to rest against her sisters torso; accepting her embrace.

"Everything's going to be okay. Things are going to get better. Maybe that means you won't be with Satoru anymore, but I promise you won't feel this way forever."
