to new beginnings

*December 19th 1991*

'I'm not going to let you do this.' A man's voice echoed through the thin wooden walls.

'Well we have no choice if we want to keep them safe.' The woman said as she was walking over towards the two cribs in the corner.

'We all have a choice and I've made mine.' The man added while he walked over to the pair.

'NOO, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!' The brunette woman screamed as she fell to the floor, blood oozing out of her wounded neck.

All of a sudden a figure in a black cloak appeared.

'Take the girls and go far away from here' the man commanded with his final breaths as he laid to rest next to his wife.

The cloaked figure rushed toward the two in the cribs. He took them and disappeared.

*Present Day*

'Guess where we're going today?!' Lexi said with a massive grin on her face.

'Paris?', 'Omg I would love to go to Paris!' Aubree exclaimed smiling as wide as her best friend now.

'No we're not going to Paris silly' , 'We're going to Mystic Falls!' The blonde haired girl says with a radiating smile.

'Why would we go to mystic falls?' The brunette asks, clearly unimpressed by her best friends antics. A look of hesitation spreads across her face.

The biggest dream for Aubree is to go to Paris. The Eiffel tower, the fashion, the romance, the EVERYTHING! She hopes to become a fashion designer and maybe one day soon her wish will come true, but for now she's just an 18 year old girl stuck with her best friend.

'Well it's Stefan's birthday and we can't miss it, and besides you can always go to Paris another time' Lexi says full of encouragement, giving her an even bigger beaming smile than before.

'He probably doesn't even remember me, I'm just some random girl he turned when he was a ripper' , Aubree sighs. 'You go, there's really no need for me to tag along.' She adds shifting uncomfortably.

'Oh come on , I'm not going without you Bree, plus l know how you like the bad boys and there is someone there who is just your type.' Lexi says smirking.

'Oooh now I'm intrigued.' Aubree admits with curiosity gleaming in her eyes.

Lexi and Aubree have been friends for just over a year ever since Lexi saved her life but it went terribly wrong. You see Aubree is a werewolf by birth and was turned into a vampire by Stefan but she never activated her curse so now she lives in fear that if she accidentally kills someone she ends up dead too.

I know it was quite short but that's only because the next chapter is going to be long with a lot of detail.

I'm excited for you all to see Aubree's backstory because it's definitely something.

Also Im recasting Alaric so let me know who you think I should recast him to be.

And maybe kol too honestly tvdu need to invest in unproblematic cast members.

Ummm I may or may not have just realised that it kinda doesn't make sense as in the flash back I called to different people the man..
