Chapter 03: Trapped

The blood seemed to be freezing in my vessels, giving me an uncomfortable sense of danger, as the creature that used to be China looked down upon me.

Suddenly, it launched straight at me, as I quickly rolled aside and got back on my feet, stumbling as I barely dodged a black acidic liquid that was shot at me. "Fucking hell..", I murred, keeping an eye on the creature. I wanted to yell, perhaps shout, but something was keeping me from doing so. And it was quite frustrating.

It launched at me again, so I grabbed a small table next to me and shoved it in the creature's face, causing the liquids that were contained on top of the table to spill all over the creature. And as it regained composure, I snapped out of my thoughts, grabbed a nearby chair and slammed it into the window, causing it to shatter. I jumped right through it and snatched Russia's hand, who stood frozen in place.

We both ran through the corridors of the hospital, while nurses and doctors started yelling and screaming. The creature was rushing after us, getting closer with each second, forcing me to think fast.

In that very moment, a patient was pushed out of a room, blocking the narrow hallway completely, as me and Russia came closer to it. My mind was analysing the area, quickly realising there was genuinely no other way besides getting around the patient.

Thats when Russia pulled on a empty food cart next to us and threw it right into the creature's face, buying us more time by irritating it.

As we arrived at the patient, I suddenly slipped and glided right under the patient's bed, as Russia swiftly grabbed the bedframe and jumped over it with ease. While he kept running, he grabbed my hand to help me back on my feet until we both were running at the same pace again.

The moment we arrived at the elevator, I started frantically pressing the button for it to reach our level. I could hear the elevator move slowly and finally reach our floor, but the doors didn't open yet. My hand then moved to another button and started pressing and hitting the "open door" button as if that'd help. "Little b-", I cursed but was cut off as the door glided open with its three second ringing.

Russia slipped in quickly, whereas I immediately jumped at the buttons inside of the elevator, just barely seeing the creature rush towards us as the door shut. A sigh left my lips, as I looked up to Russia, who's eyes were fixated upon the door. "Are you oka-", and again, my words were cut short, by the elevator door screeching open. Black claws slowly but precisely clawed at the crack between the two doors, forcefully prying them apart, while we couldn't do anything but watch.

The lights in the hallway started shutting down, leaving the ones closeby to scarcely flicker enough, that the bare figure of the creature was observable by the bare eye of one.

Since it held still in a place, you could see the creature's features. It turned out to be something that looks oddly familiar to me, but at the same time I have never seen it before. Noticeable was its big head abd slim figure, that looks like a snake with four feet. It.. it looked like those Chinese dragons, but rather deformed. Black ooz was dripping down from every inch of its body and it seemed to be fading into nothing, as it dripped towards the ground. In addition, every inch of his body seemed to switch from looking like a Chinese dragon to a moving black liquid that didn't resemble anything.

Snap. The door cracked as the dragon pulled it apart. Traces of its grip remained in the door, as it was pushed aside.

I felt felt a cold sweat roll down my face as I let out a high-pitched scream out of terror. I flinched marginally and clung onto Russia's arm.

I noticed Russia instinctively reached his hand to his gun holster and pulled out an mp-444 Babira (gun) and pointed it at the creature in a split second. In the time my mouth fell agap, a shot was fired, immediately piercing through the creature's body to which it fell into the ground, the black liquid seeping through the cracks in the ground.
