Dumbledore stood up and poured a cup of water from the side visitors table.
"Well there something I think you ought to know." He said nonchalantly between sips of his cup of water.Asha shifted on her bed.
"Umm, go on p-professor," Asha found herself mumbling nervously. No one had ever said that type of sentence and gave good new to her - which was not helped by the uneasy aura that being within close proximity to Dumbledore caused Asha.Dumbledore was always too calm and relaxed for Asha's liking. Such as how everyone who had been involved with the Stone had broken loads of school rules and yet she hasn't even received a single word of warning from anyone except Harry before he calmed down.
When Professor Snape sees you, he will kill you.
The voice kept coming up since Draco said those horrible things to her before framing her for a detention.
It wasn't the detention that got to her, she had had plenty already. But it was what he said.
But then why didn't the voice appear any of the other hundreds of times she had been told the same things Draco had said?
And why won't it go away?
Asha's thoughts continuously got more and more morbid until Asha noticed Dumbledore was repeating her name."Asha?" Dumbledore asked worried, Asha didn't know how many times he had asked her. She promptly looked up again and frantically nodded her head. "Are you feeling alright? I've noticed you shake your head a couple times now..." Dumbledore trailed off.
"Anyway, as I was saying, I thought it was for the best to tell you about Nyra's family situation since that you have grown so close to her." Dumbledore somehow kept the same voice throughout everything he said."Oh.. ok, sir." Asha said, taking extra caution not to reveal her emotions any further.
How could you forgot that her parents are dead?
Asha once again shook her head and looked up a Dumbledore who passed her a freshly filled drink.
"Here, it always helps me think when I have a drink," he suggested kindly before going back to the topic at hand, "As I'm sure you got told, her parents are dead.. And thus she needed a place to stay.""W-why did her parents die?" Asha asked curiously, guiltily knowing it was a nasty question to ask.
Dumbledore breathed in deeply before saying, "Azkaban is a cruel place for most."
'Nyra's parents were in Azkaban?!' Asha thought to herself as she simply stared back at Dumbledore with an open mouth.
"Then I got to thinking," Dumbledore continued as if he didn't say anything startling just a second before, "As She has no surviving family, she was placed under the school's protection until we can find a place for her." He looked as if he had a word or two he wanted to say, presumably about the people who made that choice, but he kept his cool.
"Where will she go?"
"Luckily I have many contacts ready and one which I was not expecting to take her, suggested so!"
Asha relaxed her body from a tenseness she didn't even know she was holding.
"Who?""The kind suggestion from the Weasley family." Dumbledore smiled, "I haven't yet told the poor girl since I received the news mere moments before I received news that you had awoken."
"What are you waiting for? I'm not the person who needs to know this news." Asha said slightly confused.
"Well, I was hoping she was here but it seems that she is an illusive person." Dumbledore said before putting the drink down. "Hopefully by now Snape has told her to go to my office, I had best be off now, Asha.
With that Asha was left alone with her thoughts as she wriggled uncomfortably in her bed.
Why did Dumbledore tell her matters that were none of her business?
How did he know about her friendships after not acknowledging her for the whole year?
He's magic of course, he can probably see stuff I will never be able to...Asha was snapped out of her head when Madam Pomfrey entered the room.
"It's about time you were alone! I need to run a couple of tests on you such as on that eye of yours."
Asha shifted further back in her bed at the suggestion but didn't do anything to stop her.~~~
Asha didn't know how long she was in that hospital but was let out of the hospital wing on the day that the train was scheduled to depart.
Harry had often came in for a chat and came to inform he on any events happening but Nyra had not once came in since the day that Dumbledore had told Asha that Nyra was to go to the Weasley's house over the summer.
There had to be more than simple kindness behind that plan but Asha couldn't think of anything - although she spent hours contemplating about it.The first thing Asha did once she was let out of the hospital wing was look for Nyra.
She checked her dorm first only to be confronted by Slytherin girls who told her that no one had seen her in a while so went to Hagrid."Really helpful information! Might as well have told me to look up a tree!" Asha complained to Hagrid about the girls once she went to check his hut.
However Hagrid simply smiled back making Asha feel uneasy. After a moment of awkward silence, Hagrid suggested.
"If I'm no' mistaken, Nyra should be still hiding by the train. You'd best pack for the train an' talk to her there."
He then gave Asha a happy wave as she walked off.
"Enjoy yur summer!"~~~
Once Asha made it to the train she found it mostly empty except a couple of workers. She was well ahead of most of the students in going home and that was a good thing in her opinion since it would help her look around.
She put down her stuff next to a bench before walking around the platform where she could see Nyra's stuff just placed in the middle of the platform.
"Nyra!" She called a couple times but each time got no reply. "Just come out, I know you're here."
Asha did not know if Nyra was here or not in all honesty but logically if Nyra wasn't in hearing range then she could say it as many times as she wanted.Eventually Asha could hear some faint sniffing so walked close to the location.
Nyra was sitting, crossed legged, in a bush with her face in her hands.
"Nyra?" Asha quietly asked, slowly walking near her friend. Nyra didn't respond at all causing Asha to have put an arm around her which successfully got Nyra to jump up in a frenzy before looking at Asha and calming down."Asha?..." Nyra asked nervously, clearly trying to sound stronger than she felt.
"I, um, heard the news..." Asha awkwardly began. "And it's a good thing, you know."
"Is it, though?" Nyra almost snapped, taking Asha off guard who backed up a couple steps. "S-sorry, I'm not the happiest right now."
"I understand. But I know the Weasley's personally and I know that they are lovely, plus I will make an effort to meet you if you're going there then."
This made Nyra brighten up significantly.
"I guess that is good then..." Nyra chuckled slightly, "But I kinda think that they are doing this to watch me."Lyla grimaced at Nyra's quick mood change.
"What could they find out anyway? Just enjoy your time there since you, um sorry to say this, have no other decent option.. If you want to hide something from them then that should be easy."Nyra nodded a couple times.
"Yea.. I guess you right. I suppose." She then pointed behind her, "can we go get our stuff and then just sit on the train early, getting good seats, I don't want to go back in the school until September.""Sure, I will be able to say goodbye to people on the train anyway." Asha commented before they both walked to pick their stuff.
They both found a good train carriage to sit at and got comfortable, likely hours before they were meant to but they didn't care.
Lyla was openly dreading seeing her parents again and wished she could go with Nyra to the Weasley's for the summer but that would be unfair on Harry plus the Weasley's already have a huge family which had just gained a member.
Nyra, on the other hand, did not know how she was going to hide her parent's secret from everyone for the rest of the summer but was definitely going to give it a shot.
