"Descamps, it's time for you to go home. If Jean sees us together again, he'll murder me and you."

"We already talked. Don't worry." His grin on his face confused me.

"What do you mean you talked? When? And what did he say?" I blabbed out, not understanding anything.

"I'll tell you tomorrow after school." his warm breath against my ear gave me goosebumps everywhere, as he pushed some strands away from my face and tucked them behind my ears. He started to walk to the door.

"You can't just leave me without giving me an answer?!" I ran after him, as he tried to leave. His hand found the door and I closed it before he could leave.

"Tell me right now!"

"Either you wait till tomorrow, or you can ask your brother..." and he walked out the door.

I stood dumbfounded and didn't know what to do. Do I go after him? Do I run upstairs to Jean?

I guess I'll wait. Ugh I hate him.

My birthday party ended without any other disturbances. Thankfully. It was quite eventful thanks to Jean-Pierre and Joseph. I still felt bad for Belkacem, because he had to get involved in this childish situation. Like who would punch someone for dancing?

On my way to school, I noticed how I saw almost everyone from school at the party. Who the hell invited those people? I only know a handful of people.

Jean left earlier for school to catch up on some schoolwork. I sadly had to go alone this time. But it didn't last long, before I crossed paths with the strawberry blonde girl. Her eyes shot open, when she saw me, and she sprinted to me.

"Bonjour, ça va?" she wrapped her arm around mine and we walked slowly. "Bien, et toi?"

"I'm actually still exhausted from your birthday. Don't tell anyone but Alain and I overdid the drinks." Her laughs echoed through the streets, as we approached to the school.

I held my hand before my lips and spoke. "Got it."

My eyes searched for the other girl. She had a lot going on at the time and I wanted to check up on her. "Did Simone tell you anything?"

Michelle's brows furrowed as she looked at me. "What would she tell me?"

"I don't know, she's been going through a lot you know. It's like scarry."

"I'll talk to her when I see her."

"D'accord."

We walked further into the school, and I looked out for my brother. He wasn't at his usual spot with his friends. It was just Joseph. Alone. I wondered where the rest of the group went. Before I could overthink more, Descamps eyes met mine and he signaled me to come with him.

I told Simone that I would be going to the restroom and left immediately. The small path to the gym was one of the most popular meeting places for students, because the teachers take the way from inside the school.

His long steps followed me, and I could see him dropping his cigarette and trying to catch up on me. We had only twenty minutes till school started. So, it had to be a quick talk.

"What is it Descamps?" I talked quite harshly, my annoyed mood visible.

"I thought, that you wanted to know what Jean told me at the party after he-"
