As I was cooking for dinner in the kitchen today. The sounds of footsteps, and branches breaking outside, caught my attention. Despite trying to ignore them, I continued cooking stewed chicken with vegetables, waiting for the time to pass. Not until,
"Boggsshh!!"
Suddenly, a loud crash from outside made me grab my cell phone to check the time, which read at 7:20 in the evening, with no calls or messages. Even my heart beat increases so fast, I'm too confident to check, and investigate the noise.
Upon stepping outside, I saw a large black animal dashed into the woods, seeming fearful of me.
With a flashlight in my hand, I cautiously explore the backyard. Then I found a bloody, and lifeless deer on the ground, leaving me shocked by the unexpected horror scene.
"Who could have done such a thing to you?" I said.
My pulse quickened as I came across a lifeless animal missing its head, with incomplete bones and a wounded tail, indicating it was either eaten or killed by someone.
Suddenly, I detected heavy breathing coming from the woods, and I sensed a pair of crimson eyes fixed on me, accompanied by a looming black shadow.
Despite considering the possibility of a bear, I knew it was unlikely as there are no reports of bears inhabiting the Philippines. Curiosity piqued, I couldn't help but try to identify the mysterious creature.
"Someone's there...?" I called in a loud voices. But it didn't answer me.
"Hello... I can see you. Are you okay?" Still, it makes no sounds, except for the cold breeze that touches my skin. Then I started to take a step forward, going up through the ground.
"Hello. I'm coming..." I said.
But in surprise! A strange, big animal suddenly appeared in front of me. It growls with anger like a tiger, and takes steps towards me.
By questioning its identity. Slowly, I began to retreat, step by step. Fear gripped me as I trembled, clutching the flashlight tightly in my hand.
The sight of its enormous, razor-sharp teeth left me stunned, realizing the danger it posed to all creatures in the forest. The thumping sound I heard was the rapid beating of my heart seeing those locked red-big eyes. Then I sense an imminent attack, So I swiftly run back inside the house for my safety. I was in a rush of panic and fear made it feel as though my spirit was soaring along with my fleeing body.
As soon as I entered, I quickly locked the door.
"Wrrooorrr!" the following voices scattered around.
Glancing out the window, I realized that I hadn't been followed by anyone. Relief washed over me as I whispered to myself, "Thank You!" acknowledging my fortunate escape.
Despite my nerves, and my body trembled uncontrollably. I cautiously sneaked out the window once more, scanning the area behind the house, but there were no signs of any animals there. Even the lingering scent that had been present since my arrival had gone.
