A beautiful woman greeted me. She's very pretty; at her height, she looks like a young lady who is tall, and the curve of her body is like a model in a magazine or Miss Universe.

She holds me close to her. I took a small step back and I felt a little shy. Her clothes were neat and tidy but why did I smell a dead leaf on her. I remember my friend's pet cat Tagi back then. The cat's smell is similar to hers.

"Thank you, ma'am; it's lovely to meet you too. And thank you for inviting me to have dinner with your sons."

"You are very welcome, sweetheart. Oh! Don't call me ma'am, instead, you can call me "Mom." She replied and winked at me.

Wow! Are we that close of friends? to treat me like I am the wife of one of her sons?

We all go inside, and Jolina shows me around the house for a bit. And we ended up in the large kitchen. The boys invited me to sit down while Jolina proceeded to the kitchen, but I stood and joined Jolina. I wanted to help her prepare the food.

"Is there anything that I can do? My mom told me not to watch; instead, I should do something at least," I asked.

"Oh, no, you are my guest. Just relax and tell me about your day later," she said. I knew she had almost done it. So, I turned back to the living room. I saw Jade standing from the outside then I join him for a small chat.

"Jade, I have to tell you something." I said it seriously.

"What was it, darling? Jade replied jokingly.

"Don't call me darling, I am not your girlfriend. Your mom might misunderstand it." I said with a little irateness, and I hope no one hears it.

"You were so serious. Alright. What was it?" he asked.

"You know, since we came here in Zamboanga, something terrible has happened to me. First, my dad saw a big dog on our road trip; as per him, the dog jumped in the road while he was driving. As they checked, there was no dog around. Though I didn't tell my parents that I saw something in the woods, there was something in there, and they were hiding. A shadow of darkness was looking at us. My parents never saw it. And last night, a strange dog attempted to attack me. Luckily, I managed to run as fast as I could." I explained that the four of them seemed interested in my storytelling.

"The dog you said is like a wolf," Jade clarified.

"Yes! Just the same, but it was so scary!"

"Don't be scared, darling. I'm here; I will find that dog to get into prison; I will not allow anyone to hurt you." Jade said. I frowned

and pursed my lips because I was disgusted by what he said. He's not totally flirting, but I have a strong hunch that it will go there too. No way! For me, I still want my English teacher to be my best friend. So, I just turned my back on him and ignored him.

"Seriously...?" I heard him. I walked to the kitchen. Jolina had finished setting the table for our dinner.

"Growing boys are always starving," she says with a laugh. I realized I was pretty hungry, too. Thankfully, Jolina prepared many foods. five boxes of pizza with different flavors and ingredients. Two plates of pan cake, sweet and sour cream, home-made vegetable salad, and a cold can of beer

"Oh, let's start the party." Joel said, and take his first bite.

Jolina asked me questions about myself as we ate. Isn't she worried we will spoil our dinner? I guess not. Seeing how much food she has already put in front of us—or maybe this is dinner—I don't really know. But it's delicious.

"So, where are your parents from?"

"Surigao"

"Interesting!" Jolina's response
