ACT TWO-PART ELEVEN

"As of last night, four teenagers have been officially listed as runaways on the Beacon Hills missing persons page. Their families continue to search for answers as to the children's whereabouts. If you have any information at this time, please, contact the Beacon Hills Sheriff's Department."

Glancing at Isaac as they walked deeper into the woods, Ashton thought back on today and the last few days. Erica and Boyd had taken their own path, all of them searching, keeping an eye out for any hunters or cops as they were the focus for both parties. They weren't exactly ready to be found just yet.

Scott had made a few calls to each of them, trying to get answers, or maybe even explain himself. Quite frankly, none of them cared to listen. They had a plan, they were going to stick to it.

But Ashton must admit, he was shocked to see Allison had yet to reach out or make any advances towards finding him. She had, actually, gone out of her way to not find him. Ashton would like to tell himself it's because he's her twin, even if he's still with Derek. Yet, the most likely reason would be that they had no leads yet.

Wesley, however, worried him the most. Everyday he would get messages from him. Begging him to come back, or cursing at him for being stupid, even going as far to leave voicemails, telling Ashton that he better be alive. Some nights though, Ashton would receive paragraphs, each one just updating Ashton on his life. Riley had been made vice captain of her soccer team, Wesley decided not to quit the swim team, Cole had submitted his art into a contest and won first place, and Maria and Joseph had adopted a young golden lab puppy. Wesley knew it was for him and his siblings, something to distract them for Ashton's sudden disappearance, but still, it was nice of them to finally take in an animal that needed a home.

Isaac sighed, crossing his arms as Ashton and him paused in a clearing to rest their legs. They had been walking around for almost an hour, plus it was starting to get colder the darker it got.

"I'm ready to go back." Isaac muttered, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.

"You go." Ashton said, glancing around. Someone was watching them. "I'm gonna stay here for a few minutes."

"Listen to Wes's new voicemail?" Isaac teased lightly, but there was an almost sad tone to his voice. He knew how much Ashton hated being away from Wesley, not being able to tell the person he loved that he was alive and okay.

Ashton rolled his eyes, pulling out his phone. "Just go, I'll be back soon."

Isaac nodded, turning in the direction they came and jogging between the trees. Clearly, he was ready to be back and get some sleep. Hopefully before Erica came back and complained about boredom.

Ashton waited until Isaac disappeared from view, sliding his phone back into his pocket. He could feel eyes burning into his back, his magic sparking to life in his fingertips, prepared to go off as the presence could be an unknown danger. "You can come out now."

Ashton turned, eyes locking with Peters. Ashton knew he was alive again from what Derek had told him, but he didn't think Peter would be bold enough to show his face so soon. Especially now.

"I've been meaning to catch you alone." Peter said, walking up to Ashton. "Wanted to check on my favorite Argent."

Ashton raised an eyebrow. Now that, that wasn't what he was expecting. "Favorite Argent?"

Peter hummed in confirmation, leaning against a tree, arms crossed over his chest. "Of course. We're similar. You aren't afraid to get blood on your hands, unlike the rest of them."
