jay and carlos went to their shared dorm alongside mal and evie.

ruby, however, somehow got a dorm room all to herself.

the room was unlike any room she had ever been in before. it was perfect.

i mean, heck, the room was bigger than ruby's entire apartment back home.

ruby decided not to unpack, but put the small purple flag she found in her room back on the isle on the desk next to her bed.

after a few hours went by, it was getting late and ruby had not eaten anything yet, so the girl decided to sneak out to try and find some food.

as she made her way downstairs, she started exploring the castle as quietly as possible, because it was technically past her curfew.

once ruby found the kitchen she jumped up in excitement, but then remembered she had to be quiet, so the girl carefully pushed the door open and shut it closed once she was in.

looking through the shelves, ruby had no idea what anything was because they never had anything fresh on the isle, so ruby picked up something labeled cherries alongside a box of pizza she found.

as the girl bit into the cherry, she was overwhelmed by the flavor. "oh, wow" ruby sighed happily, failing to notice that another person had walked into the room.

"late night snack?" ben asked, finally announcing his presence.

ruby gasped as she jumped off of the counter she was sitting on to, still holding onto the bowl of cherries in her hand.

"uh... no?" ruby said, more as a question.

"okay, then explain the cherry juice all around your mouth" ben laughed.

"is it that bad?" ruby asked, grimacing slightly.

"here" ben said as he grabbed a napkin and walked over to the girl.

"is this okay?" ben asked while pressing the napkin against ruby's mouth, the girl in maroon nodded as her way of answering.

once ben finished wiping off the cherry juice, he looked at the combination of foods ruby was eating.

"cherries and pizza? come on, everyone knows those two don't go together" the prince laughed while smiling at the girl who looked down at her food choices.

"i wouldn't know. we never had any of these amazing food options on the isle" ruby said softly.

"are you serious? is there anything i can do to change that? i don't want the people to starve down there. that is the last thing i want to happen" ben said, emotionally.

"hey, they'll be fine. we've all lived off of fish caught by different pirates and stolen rotten apples for so many years, so we make a living" ruby smiled.
