I need you, but I don't want you

"I love you." Atsushi repeated over and over, holding gently in his arms the limp body of whom he called his soul mate.

Akutagawa, who lay there, too tired to even move his eyes to look at him, ignored the words spoken, telling himself that someone like the white-haired man didn't understand what "love" meant.

As sweet and kind as Nakajima Atsushi may be, he's a vampire, and his nature is difficult to hide. A desire for blood, which was the worst curse for humans.

Love at first sight, might be what happened, but the reality is not even close.

A simple visit to Dazai Osamu's mansion. A Duke of the underworld that Atsushi happened to meet and they surprisingly become friends.
Like every Saturday, at 11 P.M., Atsushi went to have a little talk with his friend, who used this free time to complain about his "useless" life.

"Dazai-San... that's..."

"Atsushi-kun, you don't understand me!" The brunette exclaimed dramatically. "My wish is to go beautifully with a lady, but my fate cursed me, making me be born as a vampire..." He fell over the white-haired boy, who chuckled, not knowing if insult him or be concerned.

A short glance at the slightly open door of the room, black strands of hair disappearing on the other side.

Atsushi wondered who that might be. His attention was caught without even having seen his face, that person had... a breathtaking aura.

"Dazai-san, do you... live with a human?" The boy asked, pushing gently Dazai, who still was acting all dramatic.

"Huh? I already told you about Chuuya, right?"

"Yes, but no... I smell another human... it's..."

The brunette blinked, watching his friend be so amazed by someone they hadn't met yet. A small smirk on his face appeared.

"How funny~" He muttered to himself.

"Eh?"

"No, no, nothing. You must be talking about Akutagawa-kun." Dazai explained, with an almost innocent look.

"Akutagawa..." As if his name was something from another world, Atsushi's eyes brightened, like a kid would become when seeing the toy they always wanted.

A wide grin spread on Dazai's lips.
He leaned closer, whispering.

"Want to meet him?" A taunting tone. Anyone would think Dazai was trying to get Atsushi into something illegal.

Average height, extremely pale, he even looked a little anorexic. Only Atsushi would describe such a human as: "stunning."

Akutagawa disliked Atsushi, he hated his guts to his core. But Atsushi kept visiting him. He even spent more time with the human men than Dazai, his friend and owner of this human.

Dazai assured to have never touched Akutagawa, that he was too young for him. It was understandable, since Dazai took Akutagawa in when he was only 14.

Of course, that doesn't mean vampires don't drink the blood of minors. Dazai was just special and preferred to drink the blood of someone whom he would engage in "special" activities with.
Atsushi was like that as well.

Again and again, he tried to get close to Akutagawa. Bought gifts, complimented, helped when needed... anything, Atsushi did anything between his possibilities to get just a nice word from who he trusted to be his destined one.

It was useless.

"Dazai-san, am I doing something wrong?..." His last gift, a bouquet of expensive flowers, was now lying on the table, burned.
