CHAPTER 5: Drama? A Little Too Much

CHAPTER #5

Anything to do with Azura Martin and the news travels faster than light. By evening of the day of the tryouts, the whole world already knew that I had joined my school's girl's soccer team.

"Azura!" Rome called me and came running towards me as soon as I entered the school building the next day.

"Hey there Romeo!" I said as I hugged him.

"I know you are glad to see me Juliet!" he said as I let go of him. I love to call him Romeo, because he gets easily annoyed and to annoy me back he calls me Juliet but he always fails because I never get annoyed by the name 'Juliet'.

"You were the one who came running to hug me mister!" I reminded him.

"Yeah whatever," he said pushing away that conversation as he started a new one. "so Azura Martin's on soccer team huh? How exciting!"

"I got in the soccer team, yeah exciting for me but I don't know why rest of the word is excited!" I told him the thing that had been running in my mind since I saw all those news over the internet yesterday.

"Oh the world is just excited because they think that they can criticize you when make a mess on the soccer field, but they don't know the real you and how talented you are in soccer. You'll show them girl." Rome said as we walked to the lockers.

Smiling at him, I thanked him as he gave me a hug once more.

Some people I walked past congratulated me while some were giving me the annoyed looks as I kept walking to my locker with Rome by my side. And speaking of Rome, he is and has been really, really sweet to me since we were small. Even more so, I never thought that he could be in football team because they need to be rough and strong and I had always thought Rome more like sweet and silent type of guy.

Or maybe he was like that just in front of me and Tiffany.

As I opened my locker, Madison came up to me. She seemed to be more energized than ever. probably because Rome was there.

I was caught off guard as she suddenly pulled me into a tight, bone breaking hug. "Congratulations Azura!" she squealed into my ears.

I could see the 'I feel so sorry for you' expression on Rome's face as he was looking at me.

"Can't breathe Mad's" I manage to say. Literally, I wasn't able to breathe. For a really thin person, she has a really tight grip!

She finally let go of me and looking at me then to Rome, laughing she said, "you are so funny Azura."

"Yeah I know I am" I told her giving her fake smile but inside my head, the voice was shouting 'I couldn't breathe and that was funny to you? Ha ha lets all laugh because Azura Martin suffocated to death!'

"Okay, I'll see you guys later." Rome said and waving a goodbye he left walking really fast and almost disappearing in the crowd.

"He is so cute!" Madison said dreamily as she stated at Rome's back as he walked away.

Yeah, I have no idea what she meant by cute because Rome barely even looked at her. I don't think Rome likes her back though because I've always noticed he runs away if she is anywhere near him.

"I have to go too" she continued and she left as well.

I finally turned to my locker and took out some of my books. After some moments someone tapped on my soldiers.

Hoping against hope that this time it was not Archer Roy who had come to annoy me and ruin my day, I turned around. Fortunately, it wasn't him but it was someone I had never expected.
