CHAPTER#9

One minute left.

The pressure was all on me. I was running with the ball as fast as I could while not careful not to let the opponent near me or the ball.

The stands were filled with people. I knew my parents were there, I had seen them with a poster that said, "Go Leopards."

Half the stands was filled with cheering black and yellow colours, cheering for us, the Leopards while half were filled with red and white, cheering for our opponent, the Red Hawks.

Before that match started, my friends and came to wish me luck. Crystal and Tiffany had made banners for me and Garnet which said 'Growl Leopards, Go Azura and Garnet' but I was surprised when Auro came dragging Archer close behind him.

Auro was wearing a yellow and black t-shirt which almost matched our jerseys, to show his support. He seemed really excited about the game and he had told me that he was sure I would make the winning goal for our team. Whereas on the other hand Archer was in his old bad boy attire and his expression showed that he couldn't care less about the game.

Since the day I met Auro, we became really good friends. Our tastes matched in almost each and every thing. Also I had found a person who enjoyed annoying Archer and that was the best interest we both shared.

I and Archer started our assignment on the day I went over to his apartment and met Auro, but Archer started annoying me again. So Auro came to my rescue and started annoying Archer instead leaving him without any comebacks. That was the most fun I had this week.

Twenty second left on the clock.

I was almost near the goal post. By now the score was tied by one all, Garnet being the first one to score for our team and if I managed to score a goal now we would win the first match of the season, which would be a big deal because before now the Leopards girls' soccer team had never won the first match of the season.

I could hear the cheer squad cheering in the distance, people in the stands shouting, 'score a goal' repeatedly.

I was open; my team mates were doing a good job by blocking the opponents. Slowly I couldn't hear the cheers, it was like someone had turned the volume down as I took an aim and kicked the ball.

The volume of cheers in the field blasted as the goalie missed the ball by an inch and the ball hit the net.

I scored.

About a second later the referee blew his whistle signalling the end of the match.

We won. The Leopards won the first match of the season.

We won. Just the way Auro had told me, I scored the winning goal for my team.

My team mates ran to me and cheered my name, followed by the people in the stands.

Cameras were flashing around; probably those gossip news people who wanted to see me fail. Well guess what? In your face suckers.

I saw the cheerleaders jumping up and down in joy. I looked at the stands and saw my parents looking at me with pride and joy. A little above I say Crystal, Madison and Rome shouting and cheering with happiness, banners flying around. But the shocking view was at the top row, I understood Auro jumping up and down like crazy with happiness but beside him was Archer clapping and wolf whistling with a genuine smile in his face.

So he did care about the game huh?

I'm joined by many people giving me hugs and pats on my back congratulating me and congratulating the team.
