Nalu's Point of View
I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and a heavy feeling in my chest. As the day went on, my symptoms only seemed to worsen. I found it increasingly difficult to focus and keep up with the lessons. Sir Yoshio noticed my lack of energy and asked if I'm okay.
I tried to brush it off and convinced him that I was fine, but he could see right through me. Sir Yoshio had always been a caring and understanding teacher, and today was no different.
He can see that I was struggling and immediately offered to take me home after class. I am touched by his concern and thoughtfulness, but I know I couldn't leave early.
He kept checking on me throughout the class and even offered to get me a glass of water. I am grateful for his kindness and reassurance, but I can't help but feel guilty for causing worry.
I mustered up all my strength to pack my things nang biglang humarang si Olivia.
She pointed her finger to my face.
Anger welled up in my chest. "Wala akong inaagaw, Olivia! Very cheap." sarkastikong sabi ko.
She was burning with anger. I just rolled my eyes and I turned back as if nothing had happened.
If Mr. Yoshio had decided to do these things and wanted to be with me, so be it, desisyon niya 'yon and I cannot be held responsible for it.
My mom teased me when I got home. She would always say things like, 'Oh, you must have a crush on your teacher'.
