POV: Balthazar

I let my team do what ever they wanted for the interrogation. No doubt though, my father would be watching to see who would join in the end. I dragged Perseus' body. Boy, was it heavy. I'm not sure if it was fat or muscle. Probably the later though, he did look quite fit.

He was still sleeping like the dead. It was good because the place we were going was top secret. Only selective members of my team have ever made it here. It was a training place for only the best people and I really didn't like it when it was taken lightly. The few people that did take it lightly are currently serving time with my father.

I sat down, cross legged and waited for him to wake up.

"Ugh" He groaned, five minutes after we had arrive "Where are we"

"Welcome, to Erebus' Crater" I began, a mask on my face. "This place has been training only the best demi-gods from before the birth of the Greeks and Romans."

He took a look around, it was obvious he had never seen this kind of stuff before. I was surprised that Nyx did not train him for this kind of stuff, she must of known that he would need to know this.

"Where are we?" I just shook my head, no one was allowed to know the passage that we took to get here. "What is this place specifically used for?" He tried again, now this was a question that I could have answered, if I wanted or was in the mood to do so.

"I can't tell you that either." I responded "However, what I can tell you is that only select demi-primordials are allowed in here." I walked towards the command room. Perseus followed.

This room was like one of those space station rooms. Each seat was for a different member of the command group. We would be the ones leading the demi-primodials when war was going to come. We had every spot full. No one was needed, however with me being leader we needed someone to take charge in case of my demise. My father had agreed to let that role be Perseus.

Erebus was a fan of Perseus, perhaps because he helped raise the boy. I did not understand the usage of him, he was lousy and over-confident. He did not have the characteristics to take over the command. But I listened to my father, because after all it was I who was the servant to the Primordials. I would serve until the end of my days.

"What is this room for?" Perseus' mouth was opened, in awe. I explained quickly the usage before moving to the next room.

The training grounds. Hundreds of auto-motives were lined up, ready to serve their purpose when we turned them on. They would imitate a real life attacker. One that was much stronger than any other monster those demi-gods faced.

Demi-primordials always were followed by such monsters, of course the Hemera demi-primordials also had access to some, but we had more here. Since the Primordial gods were more powerful than the Greek, it only made sense for the monsters to be stronger as well. Or else the earth would be flooding with demi-primordial kids.

The sadness is that most kids (demi-primordials) died way before they could even learn to fight. My sister died this way.

My mother was visited by Erebus often, he liked her a lot. He fathered me first, but then a couple years later my sister was born. They came during the night. My mother and I were away, getting medication. My sister was ill with the flu that night. When we were gone, a monster came and killed her and the baby-sitter that was with her. The funerals was later that week.

I vowed on that day that I was going to survive. I studied hard, way before any others were trained. At the tender age of seven was I trained fully, able to use most weapons to defend myself. The only thing I lacked was the physical strength, after all seven years old was too young to develop a huge amount of muscle.

My mother had disapproved of course, but there was nothing she could do. I needed to be trained and she knew that. At the age of eight, I was taken to face the challenges by my father. Pelus greeted me the same way he did everyone, by pushing me into the water.

I passed the tests, I went above their expectations and was obviously chosen by the current leader of Erebus' team. He was going to get old soon and as soon as he saw me I was chosen to be the next leader. They trained me harder than anyone else who had joined, but I didn't mind for I needed to have skill in order to avenge my sister. I was going to kill that monster no matter what, he wasn't going to harm anyone else.

I had never shared this story with anyone, but they knew better than to ask me about my past. I never offered to share and they never asked, it worked well this way.

"Balthazar" I was brought out of my musing. Perseus was staring at me. I think he asked me a question because he was waiting for an answer.

"I'm sorry, can you repeat your question?" I asked and Perseus gave me a weird stare before saying.

"I asked if I could meet with your father. He is mine as well."

"Oh, he is busy at the moment." Too tell the truth he wasn't really busy, but I was jealous of Perseus. My father rarely helped me and to learn that Perseus was lucky enough to spend time with my dad hurt.

Was I not good enough?

"Oh" He replied and I nodded. I moved towards the command room again, wanting to avoid an awkward moment of silence.

POV: Erebus

I did regret not helping Balthazar. I saw the awkward pause when he was talking with Percy. Balthazar was actually my favorite son, he did everything correctly and was a model demi-primordial, but I was busy with Percy. Nyx made me stay and help, even though I wanted to help my own child.

She was jealous that I had cheated on her and wanted to torture me. I just knew it. I just hoped that she wasn't doing the same to me. So far there were no signs that she was pregnant. Trust me, I would know.

"Honey" A voice called out from behind me and I knew it was Nyx. When she called me honey we all knew that she was angry and wanted me to do something for her. Usually, it was something that she could do herself, but wanted to bother me, just because she could.

"Yes?" I asked, determined to start the conversation out the right way, before it turned sour so quickly.

"I need you to do something." I was right

"What?" I sighed, annoyed that she was once again making me do something for her. This was happening way to often now.

"Baby" She whined "I need you to appear to the king of the gods. They are losing the war without our help and they want to apologize." I seriously doubt that he wanted to apologize. He probably just wanted to gain support. He was too weak. Fighting against Primordials was hard business.

I sighed in defeat, I did not want to with this right now. I wanted to comfort my son. After all these years I was going to make an effort to help him and be there.
