✦---------- April 6th, 1994...

Haleigh's blue/green eyes stared out the window of her mom's 1980, volkswagen van. They had been on the road for what seemed liked forever to her. She was already missing her old friends from Oregon, they had been on the road for a while, with some stops in between. She could hear her mom's excited chatter beside her, as she talked to her Aunt Missy. Haleigh was excited to see her aunt and of course her big brother. "We're almost there Hale's, only 15 more minutes," her mom whispered to her, as she then went back to talking on the phone.

Haleigh nodded, making it known to her mother that she heard her. As she watched the cars, trucks, trees and other stuff go by she started to doze off, but as soon as she did she jumped hearing the car horn go off?!

"AAAHHH ITS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!!" She heard her mom scream happily, she was already out of the car and giving Aunt Missy a big hug, with a big smile on her lips. After Haleigh recovered from nearly having a heart attack, by her mother honking the horn, she smiled excited and got out of the van and ran up to her aunt, giving her a big hug. "Oohhh I haven't seen you in awhile, let me look at you!!" Missy told her looking shocked and amazed. "You've gotten a little taller, and you've changed your style up on me again?!" Missy said, looking her up and down in surprise, with her hands on her hips.

Haleigh rolled her eyes playfully, she did tend to change her style up every now and then. And maybe she did grow a few inches?? After Haleigh, her mom and Missy talked for a little bit, they started unloading the van. "Please tell me you guys have more stuff than just this," Missy asked her niece and sister. "Yeah we have a moving van coming tomorrow afternoon," Haleigh told her aunt as she grunted, putting a box down on their new kitchen counter. "Ok good," her aunt responded with relief. The 3 girls were in the middle of a conversation, about when Haleigh and Shawn were little, when they heard honking outside and shouting??

They all stopped talking and looked at each other. Haleigh's mom's face lit up when she recognized her son's voice, hooping and hollering. Haleigh followed on her mom's heels out the front door, seeing an old pickup truck pull into the grassy, gravelly driveway. Of course Haleigh's mom Emma was the first to hug Shawn, and 1 boy hopped out the passenger side, and two others hopped out of the truck bed??

Shawn then ran up to Haleigh and gave her a hug and ruffling her hair aggressively and playfully. "Hey bug I missed you!!" Shawn told his little sister, giving her a playful grin. "Too bad I can't say the same about you.." Haleigh joked, chuckling a little. Shawn dramatically grabbed his chest and made a fake, playful frown. "Damn that hurts!!" He kidded, Haleigh playfully punched him and picked at him, Shawn doing the same back. Shawn then introduced his mom and Haleigh to his friends, finally. "Mom, Haleigh, I want you to meet my best friends, since I've been living down here. This is Tré," Shawn said, gesturing towards a green haired boy. "This is Mike.." he then gesturing to a tall skinny boy with blonde/brown hair. "And this is Billie Joe," he said pointing to the other boy, who was smoking a cigarette, he had bleached blonde hair...

'Oh this summer is definitely going to be different!!..'
Haleigh thought as she gave the 3 boys a kind smile.
