innocent?

It had been 2 years since the Swift sisters last attended the Met Gala. The last Met Gala appearance showed the singer with her signature red lipstick wearing a soft pink dress. Since then, she had entered 'bleachella' as her fans would call it. She now had bleached hair and was wearing black lipstick, wearing a silver, metallic dress to complete the look.

10-year-old Skylar accompanied her as she always does at events like these, wearing an outfit similar to Taylor's as usual. The only difference was that Skylar's dress was a lot less revealing, and she didn't have bleached hair or black lipstick on. Taylor's look was badass, and Skylar's look was cool.

Skylar didn't have issues with major events like these. Being only 10 years of age, Skylar didn't have any social media. In fact, she wasn't even allowed to have a phone yet. Andrea and Scott, along with Taylor, had all worried about Skylar's safety ever since Taylor's career started taking off. Andrea and Scott decided that it would be best if Skylar was protected from the cruelty and the dangers of the internet for as long as possible — at least until she was a teenager. Thanks to their rules about Skylar's internet usage, Skylar was shielded from the not-so-nice comments from strangers who had nothing better to do than hate on a little kid.

"Are you ready babes?" Taylor held her hand out to her younger sister.

"Yes!" Skylar excitedly replied as she took her sister's hand. Taylor smiled at the tween, feeling refreshed by her innocence and genuine excitement about the Met Gala. Sure, Taylor was grateful that she got to attend these events, and she loved her job so much. However, not all of it is glamorous. She had been exposed to the side of the job that brought on feelings of worry and fear. It was harder to be as excited as the 10-year-old when she knew how little privacy they had and how much people analyzed every photograph and video they saw.

The Swift sisters started walking the carpet gracefully, stopping after every few steps to pose for the cameras.

"I think I closed my eyes," Skylar whispered to Taylor after a few seconds. "It was really bright." The only worry Skylar had about having her picture taken was her eyes being closed. Everyone wants cute pictures and those were usually ones where she wasn't in the middle of blinking.

"That's okay, they have a lot of other ones," Taylor smiled at the girl reassuringly.

"Okay," Skylar's worry faded away, and she went right back to having a big smile on her face as she posed for the flashing lights.

Throughout their time on the long carpet, the two of them posed in many different ways; some facing the front, some over the shoulder, and some silly pictures. Taylor was amazed by how comfortable her younger sister was in front of this many cameras, and how effortlessly she came up with different pose ideas. They were more meet and greet type of pictures rather than Met Gala red carpet pictures but no one seemed to care. The amount of joy in Sky's face melted everyone's hearts. Everyone that saw her wished they could go back to when they were as carefree and confident as the younger Swift sister.

Skylar was having the time of her life being dressed up and posing for the cameras. She felt like the main character; people were taking pictures of her rather than just pushing her aside because she was 'in the way'.

After walking the red carpet, the two girls headed in for the next part of the Met Gala: the exhibits. However, Skylar was only 10 years old. She had no interest in seeing any of the exhibits. She just wanted to sit down and rest her feet. She may have had fun on the carpet but that doesn't mean her shoes weren't hurting her feet. Skylar was also hungry; she couldn't eat at her usual snack time because she was getting ready for the Met Gala.

"I don't wanna look around," Skylar whined and stopped in place. She may be in the double digits now but she was still just a kid.

"We'll just do a quick loop," The singer tried to bargain with her younger sister. No one was required to tour the exhibits, and many people spent their time mingling and drinking cocktails. However, with Skylar being underage, there wasn't anything they could do right now other than walk around the museum. Taylor knew her sister very well; she knew that Skylar would have nothing to do and she'd start complaining very loudly about it. Hangry Skylar didn't have the best manners or attitude.
