"You gave me a love of gold
I saw it shine I wore it with pride
People called it fool's gold
but i knew i wasn't a fool (I wish i did)
You gave me a crown, it was gold plated.
How was I supposed to know?
That it will chip off
That it will fade off
I thought gold was forever...
The crown was up my head,
I never removed it
or looked up
so I never saw it fading
or rotting like our so called love.
Now its not crown
a mask I wear
that of a clown"
