"Woahh..I didn't think you were so short when they said you were short!" Jonah muttered quietly which made Cesar have the "deer in a headlight" look. If that was how it was used in sentences.
"Uh.." Cesar bit his lip in a "Okay, WHAT did you just say??" way which made Jonah break out in laughter so hard he was bound to get a stitch later. "Stop bothering the poor dude, Jon." (Jon, JOE-N)
"The emo boy has spoken." Jonah snickered before earning a mock angry look by Adam. Cesar figured that Adam got nervous when meeting new people, thus communicating in ASL when meeting them first.
Jonah sighed as she out her hands behind the back of her head and leaned back. "Boo..you're no fun, Ads." Jonah returned the mock sadness with a fake little pout. Adam rolled his eyes with a small smirk.
"I'll treat you to pizza later as an apology. Deal?" Adam turned his eyes back on the road before he could crash the car and kill everyone inside. A gulp slid down Cesar's throat. Why did he even agree to going with these people?? Yeah, they were younger and probably more trustable but-
"Hey mister? Mister Torres?" Jonah tilted their head and broke Cesar's train of thought. "P-please. Do-Don't c-..all me th-that." Broken stutters of words rolled off Cesar's tongue. "Ah..I see. Sorry 'bout that, mister."
"I'll ask a basic question. How did you survive? Everyone thought you died." Adam asked from the driver's seat without looking back.
"Wait, is he even able to explain? Hold on." Jonah reached into the pocket of the car door and got a pen and paper. Cesar noted what they wanted and started writing.
"Jumped out the window from the second floor, hit my head on a tree"
Jonah took roughly 30 seconds to read the entire sentence. Hey, you couldn't blame him. The car kept jumping when they ran over speed bumps and rocks.
"Got meds for that?" Jonah gave the notepad back.
"..Fuck." Was the only word that came out of Cesar's mouth.
"..What do you mean by that.." A very, VERY, worried look crossed Jonah's face.
"Ads." Jonah said abnormally calm.
"Mhm."
"He doesn't have his meds."
Adam stopped the car immediately.
"He what."
"No meds."
Adam turned the car around immediately and started driving to the nearest Walgreens store to get medicine and bandages.
Every twist and turn of the dashing car made Cesar's stomach twist as the nonchalant look on Jonah's face just scared Cesar more.
Was she used to this??
As soon as they reached the store, Cesar stumbled onto the sidewalk and doubled over, throwing up into a bush.
The duo left Cesar to throw up and entered the store before coming back out with pain killers and bandages.
"Hey bud. Are you feeling better?" Adam pat the back of Cesar's back as he nods, wiping his mouth with his sleeve. He was shivering from how sick to the stomach he felt.
"Here. Take this." Jonah handed Cesar the bottle of painkillers and a bottle of water. Cesar popped the cap off and took one, gagging as it went down his throat.
"No, swallow." Adam narrowed his eyes, making Cesar feel paralysing fear. He swallowed with a small sigh. But he had to admit. It DID make him feel better.
Jonah helped Cesar into the car and he took over driving. Adjusting the car mirror to look at Cesar and Adam in the backseat, he flashed them a determined grin.
"Next stop, Bythorne County."
