Crying Over Spilled Milk

Cesar's heart ached heavily. The tragic end of Mark Heathcliff. All because of him. Cesar wiped his eyes with a tissue that was handed to him by Adam and Jonah.

"He's in a better place now, Ces.." Adam pat his back in a hushed tone.

Jonah nods, holding the tissue box as more tears flowed from Cesar eyes, sniffles breaking his cries every few minutes as hiccups were thrown in too.

"It's no fucking use, Torres. He's dead. No use crying over spilled milk." Sarah walked back in with a deadpan expression, crossing her arms as she leaned against the kitchen counter. The BPS duo were used to this, but Cesar? Cesar was scared of Sarah. After what happened? Fat chance she'd forgive him.

With a sharp gulp, Cesar fiddled with the hoodie strings of Mark's hoodie again. His breath hitched as Sarah walked over.

"Sorry. I think we all need to calm down and put something in our stomach. What do you all feel like having?"

"..That was pretty quick." Adam commented, raising a brow.

"CAN WE HAVE-" Jonah was shortly cut off by both Sarah and Adam giving him a straight: "NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT."

Jonah rolled their eyes with a mock sad look. "Boo. You guys are no fun." Jonah  was nudged by Sarah in the side.

"Why don't we just get pizza? It's been a while." Adam scrolled through the food delivery app on his phone.

Jonah's happiness was immediately restored as she practically jumped out of their seat. And Adam seemed to perk out of his stoic attitude just by a little bit too. 

"Then it's settled." Adam got busy with the order as Sarah and Jonah crowded behind him, saying which kind of pizza they wanted. Cesar continued to sit at the end of the couch, messing with the hoodie strings since he wasn't all sure what to do.

Cesar was barely even listening, the last thing he could actually register in his mind was "Oh, and make sure to get pizza with ........ allergic."

"Cesar?"

The boy's heart almost exploded from his snap back to reality. "EeYes???"

That made Adam and Jonah double over with laughter again, laughing their hearts out until both their sides started to ache from the laughing.

"You never changed a bit, Torres." Sarah almost seemed to smile slightly as a far away look of nostalgia filled her eyes.

Cesar looked to the ground too, shifting uncomfortably in his seat as he watched Jonah and Adam continue laughing from how Cesar had said "Yes" as "EeYes".

"Ssar-..I-I'm sor-..ry."

"I know." Sarah snapped out of it as her frosty attitude returned, making a shudder go down Cesar's spine.

"S-Sar..Look. I-"

The boy unfortunately got cut off by the doorbell ringing.

"I'll get it!" Jonah got off the floor and rushed to the door, giving the deliveryman a tip and a small nod as a thanks.

Setting the table up, all four of them gathered around the table to finally have their fills.

"Cesar. We got a plain cheese pizza for you 'cause we know you dislike pepperoni."

Cesar looked up from the floor. With a gentle bow, he took a bite. He savoured the small bite he took, a quiet "Mmm.." escaping him. He really liked cheese.

Sarah watched Cesar, sighing as she took a bite of her own.

After the quartet had finished their meal, they got to work to finish the ad and poster for their paranormal society.

Jonah went to his room to make the posters, Sarah handled the emails and Adam was left to make the video advertisement. And to babysit Cesar. Cesar awkwardly sat beside Adam, watching him work his magic on the video editing. (nnow that im remembering it adam sounded very femqueen when he was advertising the ad like holy shite he sounded so sassy)

The sign was simple. Black background, blue font. But it wasn't eye catching enough. Adam groaned his frustration, tapping his fingers along the mouse pad so he doesn't actually make a mistake in the video.

Noticing the younger's frustration, Cesar tapped Adam's shoulder.

"C-can..h-..help..?"

"Do you want to help?"

Cesar nods.

With a soft smile, Adam handed his computer to Cesar. Cesar cracked his knuckles and started to change the logo. From blue font, he turned it to bright yellow. He then showed Adam a news article.

'Warm colours such as red, orange, yellow and others catch people's attention the most.'

"Woah, you really know your way with colours, don't you," Adam looked at the sign in awe.

"Stay here, let me test it out to see if it grabs Jon and Sar's attention."

Cesar smiled back as he nodded, staying at the couch. However, he could not stay awake any longer as his eyelids grew heavy before finally giving in to his sleep.
