The Age of Renewal, also known as the Age of Reconstruction or the Bronze Age, was the time period after the Second Cybertronian Civil War, during which Cybertron grappled with the challenges of maintaining the planet's newfound prosperity and bringing their race back to the days of the Golden Age.

In the wake of the AllSpark's revitalization, energy and peace is restored on Cybertron, thereby ending the Second Cybertronian Civil War between the Protectons and the Destrons. As the AllSpark and Vector Sigma began sending out new pulse waves of life-giving energy across the planet, the surface reshapes itself, and reservoirs and gulfs that were once dry empty are now filled with the bright glow of energon as Cybertron glows with power.

With the planet's restoration complete, Nominus Prime begins rebuilding Cybertronian civilization, as he and the Cybertronian Guilds establishes the caste system of Functionism, organized under the Grand Cybertronian Taxonomy (GCT) that classified all known Cybertronian bodytypes and potential alternate modes, in order to ensure Cybertron's reconstruction and stability. The Cybertronian Senate is reinstated to govern the planet's city-states and enforce the laws they've created, while the Council of Ancients is organized into the Functionist High Council who are dedicated to tracking the jobs a Cybertronian did under the caste system. Many influential figures rose to aid Nominus Prime in the reconstruction efforts such as well-respected war veterans Ginrai Pax, Sentinel Zeta, and Magnum, renowned scientists Shockwave and Strafejetter, First Senator Proteus, former Destron leader Trannis, and Steelheart, head councilor of the Functionist High Council.

During the first few ano-cycles of the reconstruction period, Nominus Prime gave up most of his centralized power to give more freedom to the city-states and the colonies, though he remains in the office of Supreme Commander of the Republic of Cybertron.

Cybertronian scientists begin reverse-engineering Space Bridge technology from the Golden Age in the hopes of creating a new form of FTL (faster-than-light) travel.

Approx. 30 million stellar cycles ago:

After many tests, the Cybertronians have finally developed their newest method of FTL space travel--Transwarp technology--with the creation of a type of hyperdrive known as the Transwarp Drive. At the city of Unitrex, the first ship outfitted with a Transwarp Drive was a small freighter dubbed the Unitrex-1, which will be better known in the modern day as the Lost Light. The launch of the Unitrex-1 proved to be a success as it made a quick trip from Cybertron to the nearest colony Arduria and back in less than a day. Impressed, Nominus Prime commissions the creation of a fleet of starships, both civilian and military classes, equipped with Transwarp Drives.

The success of Transwarp technology marks the start of the Neo-Colonial Period as Cybertron once again turns its attention to reclaiming and expanding its extraplanetary territories. Notable Cybertronian colonies founded under the flag of the Republic of Cybertron include Athenia, Messatine, Opulus, Kimia, Lucifer, Daffodil II, Zone, Planet V, Rigel, Elba, Omicron, Goo, Mayalx, Hiil'Frayka, Biosfera, and many more.

The strictures of the Functionist caste system begin to relax as the population of Cybertron stabilizes. During this time, the Senate debates the removal of the caste system, but they ultimately decide to keep it because, with all of the new colonization efforts underway, it's too soon to remove all semblance of control over the planet's infrastructure.
