I still can't believe that my whole life turned upside down in just a minute one minute I am excited to get married to the love of my life and the other I get to know that he is no more and I get hitched by his brother VIVAAN whom I hate.
A tear rolled down my cheek thinking all of this and I make no effort to wipe them and continue to look outside of the window which i am doing from the past 15 minutes. An handkerchief come in my sight and when I turned to look at the sourse it is none other than vivaan who is holding it towards me and instead of saying something I simply takes the handkerchief and wipes my tears. We doesn't make any talks and there is complete silence in the car which I like.
When we reached the house, it is completely decorated and it looked so beautiful that I couldn't help but adorn it and an 'wooow' slip out of my mouth. "You like it" vivaan says looking towards me adorning the decoration with a smile on his face. "Yeah" I said with a straight face.
"Why don't you smile at me, you used to smile a lot whenever you visited our house before" he said with a hint of sadness
" Because that smile was only meant for Manan not you and now that he is not here, there is no use to smile anyways" I hissed at him. What does he think of himself, huh! First he married me without my consent and now he wants me to smile at him. Never.
"Tum log wahi khade rahoge kya, aao ab andar aa jao" our talk get interrupted by the auu.... Sorry maa and then we go and stand by the door. Then, maa place the thal filled with red water, then I put my feet in it and put my footprints on the white carpet placed by sunali.
After that we sit and here comes the final rasam "DOODH MEIN SE RING KO DHONDNA" and I'm not going to do it at any cost because this is very personal for me. My feelings and dreams are attached to this as I had dreamt about that how me & Manan will do this together but-
Ok, cool Shivani you are not going to cry , you have to be strong. I said "sorry, but I'm not doing this ritual" and after completing my words I move to stand up but stop when I feel a hand around my wrist and when I move around to see it is vivaan's who is stoping me. I try to free my hand but failed miserably.
"Leave my hand vivaan, let me go" I said
"Where are you going, beta" maa said when she see that instead of doing the ritual I am going and vivaan is holding my hand
"Maa, main ye rasam nhi kar skti and pls mjhe force mat krna pls" I said and immediately my eyes welled up in tears (Mother, I can't do this ritual and plus don't force me please)
"Lekin beta ye riwaaz hai aur har ek naye jode ko krna pdta hai" she said and vivaan smirks listening to her mother's words and my eyes narrows.
"Wo riwaaz hi kesa jab uski neev hi jabardasti ke bandhan se Judi ho"
I said all while looking at him without emotions and then freed my hands from his grasp and runs upstairs towards the bedroom and in the bathroom and locked it and sobbed.
After some time I hear someone knocking on the door but I didn't answer it and then the voice came
