Her words still echo in my ears as if the conversation happened now and not in the morning.
Her words were harsh and cruel but they were the truth. The truth that no one wants to accept but cannot deny as well.
It's the only truth that I am the replacement not the original, still it didn't change the fact that I am her husband now. Not the other way around.
She has to understand that even if this marriage is not any of our choice, still we have to make it work to get to our happily ever after.
Her words cut through my heart slicing it open and leaving it to bleed. It felt like she intentionally said those words to me but to whom am I complaining when I very well know that they were not intentional.

Sighing I closed the file and put in the drawer locking it and left for the house.
I reached the house in no time but instead of going inside I lingered outside for a while and sit on the bench in the small garden in front of the house to think.
Suddenly a cup of tea with some biscuits appeared in a plate in front of me and when I look up sunali has put the plate and signals towards the door . I move my eyes towards it and there stands maa, seeing me she signals towards the plate and I nod.
As soon as I picked up a biscuit, I heard a laughing sound. I turned my head towards the source and there it is, the Shivani laughing her heart out. She looks so free and careless and her face has a sense of calmness on it. She doesn't look like the Shivani with whom I had a fight this morning in the kitchen.
She is laughing with the vanshika, Rohit and vansh.

I clench my teeth and feel a burst of anger flowing in my blood on seeing him and heard a crack sound. When I move my head towards it, the cup which is in my hand has been broken and the tea has burned my hand but neglecting it I stand up from the bench and goes towards them.
Seeing me approaching them she visibly stiffened and glance sideways not meeting my eyes.

My train of thoughts were broke when someone says my name and I turned around to see. Vansh has said it with his hand out for a hanshake.

I try to control my anger and says "Shi-" but ignoring me she says "maa mujhe kuch thik nahi lag raha hai, to main room main araam karne ja rahi hu" (Mom, I am not feeling well, so I am going to rest in the room.)

She nods and left for the room leaving me behind as if I just didn't try to talk to her.
I look toward maa and she gives me a painful smile and goes inside. Slowly everyone goes inside and now I am the only one standing outside of my own fucking house.
After lingering for some more time I finally goes inside directly to my room. Maa stops me in between for food but I refuse as I don't have any appetite.
Getting inside I quickly freshen up and then wears a fresh pair of pajamas and finally settled on the bed with the laptop in hand.
What can I say I have so much work to do.
After some time, the door of the room opens and Shivani enters with the plate filled with food and places it in front of me.
"I don't want to eat food"
"But maa said that you have to eat it nonetheless"
I sighed before saying
" Tell maa that I really don't want to eat. Please."
" Ok" she said and goes to take the plate back but I grab her hand and finally said which I want to say for so long but never had the courage to say it.
" You never tell me the reason of your hate towards me"
