Chapter: 2: Memories.

Aquamarines POV

We arrived at the forest, hoping that Obsidian hadn't hurt one of the many hikers on the highly populated trail in the nature park. Still, we didn't get our wish, as heaps of hikers were injured, unable to flee from the inevitable chaos with Obsidian around. I rushed to find Obsidian, hoping to stop her latest plan, and I was surprised when I felt something tighten around my throat. "Well, well, well, who do we have here, the "fearless" leader of the gemstone wolves." she taunted. "Let me go, Obsidian," I reply, annoyed with Obsidian and her games. But Obsidian had other plans and saw fit to keep her invisible force around my neck. "uh uh uh," she said, "Where is the fun in that? Aquamarine, you can never laugh, can you?" Obsidian replied with a rhetorical question. I felt enraged by the outrageous statement, but I knew I couldn't show it as she loves a reaction.

I struggled to get loose as the grip got tight, and then, I saw the girl I rescued, Maria. She charged at Obsidian and managed to push her, causing Obsidian to lose her balance. I could see Obsidian's hatred for Maria when our eyes met, so I knew I couldn't let Obsidian hurt her. But I also didn't know how I could help Maria. In the heat of the moment, I pushed her away from the danger. While Sapphire was busy just finishing one of Obsidian's knights off with some ice spikes. Thankfully, we could defeat Obsidian today, but she'll be back. She always is. We went back to our secret base to celebrate our win. Sadly, Moonstone couldn't join us because she had to raise the moon for tonight. Sunstone said that she would bring some celebration cake for Moonstone. But judging how much she likes vanilla butterscotch, the chances of that are lower than my chance of seeing a fish on a bicycle. Amethyst looked worried, so I approached her, "What's wrong?" I asked her. "it doesn't feel like a celebration. I don't know why." Amethyst replied. Obsidian and Amethyst were close before Obsidian became a broken gem, like two siblings on two opposing sides of a war. "I can't believe how Obsidian changed...." Amethyst said, her ears dropping down to her face while she said that. I couldn't imagine Sapphire changing like that, as what person could imagine their sibling would be the enemy?
