He dashed out onto the street. Lightning cracked through the sky, and heavy raindrops began to fall. The wind started to pick up. A storm was brewing.
"Sabrina!" he shouted. Gripping his shirt, he tore it open, revealing his chest. The sound of bones snapping echoed, and instead of Marcus, stood a large, black wolf. He howled in pain and took off.
Running, he searched for her scent, lost in the storm.
"No!" he thought.
Heavy drops lashed at his face, wiping away any trace of her. He ran for what felt like an eternity, trying to catch her scent. He was becoming frantic. Every trace of her was slipping away. Suddenly, he stopped and looked up at the gloomy sky. The storm raged on, lightning streaking across, and rain swirling in the wind. He closed his eyes and focused. Delving deep within, he tried to find her. The connection hadn't snapped yet. He felt it, thin but hanging on a thread. Suddenly, he saw Sabrina, muddy and tearful in her apartment, frantically packing her bag. He snapped his eyes open.
"Don't do this, I love you!" He turned and ran towards her.
He burst into her building, still in wolf form. With all his might, he crashed through the entrance to her apartment, knocking it down. The place was empty, with belongings scattered on the floor. Quickly, he shifted back. Looking around, he didn't see her bag. Naked and dirty, he stepped into the hallway and began banging loudly on the neighboring doors.
Eva casually opened her door, eyes widening at the sight of the wet and muddy Marcus. She gasped when she realized he was completely nude. He was breathing heavily, water dripping down his bare body.
"I need your phone," he said gruffly.
"No problem," she whispered.
He stormed into her apartment and snatched the phone from her hand.
"Call her," he muttered to himself. "She turned off her phone!" he yelled angrily. "Do you happen to know where Sabrina might have gone?" he asked Eva.
She shook her head. "I really don't know. What happened?"
"I screwed up!" he gritted through his teeth. "I need to get to Gabriel now!"
"I'll take you. Here, put this towel around you," Marcus looked at her questioningly, unaware that he was completely naked.
"Just so I don't get distracted while driving. I'm not a great driver. Everything distracts me," she babbled.
"I'll drive," he took the keys from her hand. "Let's go!"
They got into the car, and Marcus sighed heavily. Gripping the steering wheel, he stared blankly through the windshield. Emotions screamed within him. He needed to find her, he had to explain. He felt her pain, saw the sadness in her eyes, and it hurt him. He broke her heart, and in doing so, he broke his own.
"You love her," Eva said softly.
"Yes."
"Then you have to show her," she smiled gently at him. He looked at her, thinking for a moment.
"Give me your phone." He quickly typed a message and handed it back to her. Shifting into gear, he set off.
Shortly after, they arrived at Gabriel's. Anna nervously tapped her fingers on the table, glancing at Marcus.
"Maybe you could quickly shower to calm down," she said calmly.
"I don't have time," he replied gruffly, waiting for Gabriel.
"What happened?" Anna asked.
Marcus looked down at the floor. "I kissed Amber, and Sabrina saw me."
