Microwave

This is it!

Oh, this is it!

She'll be so damned proud!

She'll be shown how good it is!

It will do it!

It is a big and brave jello!

It will succeed!

As inspiring as this self pep talk was... The sight was quite pathetic to outsiders.

The small purple critter trying the drag a huge box from the storage section back to their living quarters.

Nihl had mentioned that this would be useful but put off getting it and so brave little stupid Eye-X took it upon itself to fulfill this self given mission.

It had no idea what a microwave was outside of this white metal box being heavy but it didn't care.

Unlike many of the critters, its incubation ended when their creator had already left so the only person it could imprint its innate love for was Nihl. Not knowing what it was to long for a creator while it had her.

And it wanted to make her proud... such a stupid little jelly.

The little thing was pushing the box across the ground, slowly but surely advancing it through the hall.

But its little jelly-like body shook at the guttural shriek, peaking over the top of the microwave, seeing the ugly mug of a beetle-like huge bug, wings whirring horribly.

It gave it a look before dropping in front of the metal box, pressing the button to open it quickly and hoping in, closing the door behind it.

The little body trembling like shaken jello when the horn of the beast struck and indented the top of the metal box, trying to get to its food.

With a knock, sending the appliance flying into the wall and crashing down, the little critter inside it bounced around before it finally landed on its side, seeing the beast land on the ground, ram the horn through the glass and rip the door open and the little critter pressed itself so hard in the corner it almost formed to it like water would.

Shliink!

That loud sound was so familiar it almost stopped being scared right away, the beast only partially looking away from its easy meal, the sound of a voice more interesting to it then the unsheathing of blades.

"Close your weary eyes." It made a skittering sound but all it did was turn towards the origin before in a rush of pinkish energy and a dash, its carapace got diced through, in a few second getting a pattern of at least ten if not more interlocking slashes filet its body. "For the end is--" The final one sending the head spiraling through the air as the blades were sheathed, so quick in their moves, so sharp and smooth, that not a drop of the bugs goopy orange blood stained the blades. "-Nigh." The head bouncing on the ground.

Eye-X slowly bounced out of the hiding spot, Nihl looking down into the twitching body of the dead bug, not liking how swarm disaster bugs were appearing now, the chamber is breaking down much faster then she thought.

She heard a sad little meow, watching the little being paw at the broken appliance.

Sighing through her nose... Brave or stupid, she still couldn't decide.

Crouching down enough to place her hand flat on the critter before lifting it as she stood, the little being sticking to her palm.

"I told you to stay in the safe zone, you almost got eaten by a bug from the swarm disaster." Nihl said but all Eye-X cared for was the plap both of its little paw on, one of each, of her cheeks, eye wobbling like those anime characters about to cry.

She sighed again, unsticking it from her hand but it hung as chest height, still glued to her face with its paws before it contracted into elastic body and stuck to her face like that snail guy.

A third sigh, deciding to not bother with the critter covering half her face.

"What did you even want from that microwave?" She breathed out, turning back around, leaving the body to rapidly disintegrate as it was not stable enough to maintain its form after death and the microwave could be changed out. "Mmm... Let's go."

Heels clicking against the ground as she walked away from the scene.

Nihl felt little to nothing... But in the long run... Even if she doesn't realize it... She had her own way of expressing herself just like how Asta had realized it... And the attention and protection she offered to these critters was enough for all the cat-cakes, inwardly considering it as her type of care, of love.

And aeons did these stupid little things need a lot of that.
