Disaster

(Most of the time, I link random music at the start, but in moments like this... Oh, oh, ooooh, oh no, these on-purpose ones are great because I can use the in game sounds.)

"Oh my aeons, we are so dead."

The room was swarmed by these bugs from hell, no way Stella can take them all out, much less the copy of the emanator, with a baseball bat, a cat-cake stuck to her and after being knocked around.

That was until, suddenly, some machinery lit up along the walls and unfolded, grabbing a few of those unsuccessful bugs and crushing them. It was meant to grab on the now destroyed containment chamber but this would do.

"I would have thought you'd have come up with a bit of a better plan."

"You're here?" Stelle asked the woman that put her in this situation drop the touch screen, letting it carelessly shatter on the ground as the machinery kept trying to grab on the missing containment unit, causing some damage.

"I said it didn't I? I promise I'd step in if you got overwhelmed and well, sadly enough my prediction turned out to be true."

"So you know how to stop these?!"

"No." She held up a lute-like instrument (I don't know if that's the name of it tbh.) but strummed an ear piercing note on it, the nearest bugs seizing up, the hard exoskeletons rattling around their soft insides, one even dropping out of the air into the whirring gears of the machinery, the cracking and splattering of insides heard. "But I can be of assistance."

"Oh great." Stelle said.

Ruan Mei only sparred the unfamiliar critter a glance, noting it looked like someone.

"You better fight miss assistant, for the whole space station depends on you." She simply said, this time making a better sounding sound echo across the room, seemingly making the bugs shudder but not as much as the first one.

She was a master of biology after all, and just like how a sound at a specific frequency can shatter glass, different frequencies can affect the living body in weird was, jamming up neurons or muscles... She could render a person momentarily paralyzed with the right mix of sounds from this simple instrument... Well... Simple... It was specifically made with this in mind even if it could work like a normal one.

And this current sound was causing jitters through the bugs' shells, making it more brittle and by extension leading to the answer of why a single swing of Stelle blasted the thing to the thing to pieces, as if she had just gotten a strength boost.

"Get to work." She simply stated to the surprised girl.

"Keep your eye on them in that case and keep doing what you are." It was much easier to be confident with the knowledge that it is not that desperate of a fight now, sticking the cat-cake to Ruan Mei's arm as she said that, the little thing looping its stretchy paws around her arm and held on for dear life.

But...

Neither had Stelle moved for another swing nor had the bugs moved on the attack when loud crackling of energy filled the air, making their hair stand up on edge.

And then all took over in an instant.

It was like a silent detonation, like an EMP had blasted through the chamber but instead of affecting the electronics it had zapped the biological life forms.

A trail of pinkish light lingered with a waft of winds before glitching and flickering out but while it lasted Stelle saw it trace past her, half way up the left side of the wall before blasting diagonally up through the room, impacting the right one and coming down.

The bugs in the way of the now vanished light of energy burst open like containers under pressure in the depths of an endless ocean, like a punctured spray can.

"What a bother."

Stelle's eyes snapped where the crackling of electricity resided, having stopped to stand a bit in front of her to the right.

Nihl just flexed her one arm holding the staff, first a halberd and now spear, pointing the tip at the ground, sparing none of the others in the room a look, more then aware who they were.

Looking as the wide awake clone emanator of Tayzzyronth.

"You should have stayed out of this stelleron." She said, narrowing her eyes, energy crackling through the spear at the bug roared, shaking the ground. "I had under control."

"Under control?! This?! It almost ate me!"

"That's what you get for waking it... Now..." Spinning her spear with still one hand, passing it to the other that pointed it at the emanator. "The end is nigh."
