Nero, medical bay 3, examination room 8

Trickshot glanced at the window. It was still blacked out. He knew that Six was behind there, alone and dying. He needed to save him.

He lay down on the examination table, staring at the ceiling, waiting for TY-9 to come back. He knew the door would only open for it, and he wouldn't be able to get out of this room without the droid.

It finally came in after a while of waiting. Trickshot paused for the door to close before getting up.

"I need you to help me get Six."

TY-9 looked at him. It had no expression, being a machine, but it almost looked like it was about to say no. "It is against my programming to expose you to others."

"It's your duty to save the patient, right?" He walked around the the table and came to stand next to the droid.

"That is correct."

"And you recommended this...atomic brain scan as the best way to save the patient, yes?"

"Correct."

"So, by not performing this scan, you're letting the patient die. Willingly."

TY-9 stood still for a moment. "Impossible."

"Check your programming. I thought saving the patient was your highest order."

"That is correct," TY-9 said after a second.

"Right then. Let's get to it."

Trickshot made sure that he was right behind TY-9 when they exited the room. Thankfully, the coast was clear, and they made it into Six's room without any problems.

He stood next to Six for a moment, then shook himself out of it and got to work.

The droid went to the screens and tapped in a code. It's fingers moved so fast, that each program was a blur. Then it halted at Six's scans. TY-9 pressed another button, and slowly moved the digital dial up.

They waited, staring back and forth at Six and the screen.

"Everything seems to be normal." TY-9 noted.

Then the screens began to beep rapidly. Looking at the scan of his brother's brain, he could see a thin, red line starting at the middle of his neck, and ending at the back of his head, near the base of his skull. A flashing dot indicated the start of the line.

"It appears that he has developed a tumor." They both looked at the screen, the scanning line swept back and forth, but still showed the red dot. "I have never witnessed something like this in your kind."

Trickshot backed away from the screen, and turned around, just to knock into a table, scattering all the tools to the floor. He winced at the loud clattering sound. He stood still for a moment, then went to pick a tool up.

"What was that?" The muffled voice of Kari Tar was heard outside their door. Trickshot swore quietly, then ducked under the table that Six lay on.

"You think anybody heard that?" He whispered to TY-9.

"I think someone heard that." The droid said unhelpfully. It just rolled around, as Trickshot picked up the tools. The Neroi's footsteps came closer. He panicked, shoving the tray back onto the table, not caring if they fell again. He dove under the examination table.

He could see Kari Tar's feet appear at the doorway.

"Hello, Doctor." TY-9 waved his hand.

"What are you doing here?" She stepped closer.
