Beepaw was almost giddy with excitement. He was sad that his adoptive father wasn't here to see it, but today, right now, was his big moment. He looked up at the newly named Shellstar. Pebblefall, the new deputy, sat beside her. Beepaw took a deep breath and stepped forward. Shellstar smiled at him.
"I, Shellstar, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has trained in the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you in his turn. Beepaw," she looked down at him, "do promise to uphold the warrior code and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Beepaw breathed in deep again. This is it. He looked Shellstar in the eye. "I do." He said confidently.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give your warrior name. From this moment forward, you shall be known as-" Shellstar broke off as Beepaw opened his mouth. "-Yes?"
"May I please be named in honor of Brackenstar?" He asked, a little embarrassed. Shellstar seemed to be holding in a laugh.
"Yes...what do you want to be called?" She asked. Beepaw stared at her, eyes shining.
"Beesplotch." He said firmly. Shellstar nodded.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, you shall be known as Beesplotch. StarClan honors your courage and compassion." She touched noses to his. The Clan cheered. Beesplotch looked at the sky, where the stars should be. I did, Brackenstar, I did it.
