CHAPTER-9

"Did you watch the promo that the show released?"

"oh? it's already out?"

"Mmhm"

"What do you think will they make it to the line-up?"

"Hyungsoo hyung has really good potential... but I am still not sure about First. Honestly, I don't even get it."

"What?"

"Why would they even let First go in this show?"

"What do you mean by why? It must be to highlight Hyungsoo hyung, while comparing to him, clearly, he is just a prop."

"yah yah, come closer." the trainee pulled the other one closer and said but the voice nonetheless was louder than a whisper.

"It's total insider news, so I am not sure if they really saw any potential in him, cause there's a rumor in the company that based on his performance and popularity even if they can not make it to the group, one will definitely debut solo."

"What nonsense are you spouting? If it was someone else it would have been possible but First clearly lacks everything heh except for his good looks," he said while snickering sarcastically.

"Yahh! Why are you speaking so loudly, someone will hear us. Shh."

With that, there was laughter and sound of footsteps getting farther into the hallway. 

First got out from the corner he was hiding and eavesdropping from, and with a solemn look he went off preparing for his first performance. While his face looked calm, and blank none would have known how chaotic his thoughts were getting, the conversation clearly impacted his mentality even more, but all he could think was 'What can I do except for them to show it?'

And with that, while his thoughts have been wandering off from time to time, his sweats and focus were on his practice that when the time came for them to enter the show's trainee camp, he was still kind of muddleheaded.

"Hey! What is wrong with you these days?" First was nudged out of his trance by a soft nudge by his side.

"Nervous?" he was again asked, then only now did he notice that he had been spacing out while Cha PD was telling them something. 

First smiled slickly and nodded whispering to Hyungsoo, "A little bit"

Hyungsoo clearly did not believe in his little bit, who will zone out thinking about something if they are not being serious?

Just like that, they were dropped at the camp, with a calm and composed Hyungsoo and continuously zoning out First.

Only when they got out of the car and saw other trainees with their things, and chattering excitedly did First's soul return to reality, he had some battle to fight, with his own inner insecurities and with some people's doubt. With a long breath in, First observed at the entrance with a determined look.
