Man when I say this party was lit, if you ever read The Great Gatsby...it was better than that. I told my niggas I was about to break out and see what was up, and split. I saw Mike, and he was surprised I was there.
"Well look who decided to come through, wassup nigga?"
"Of course man, I see the shit already lit though, good shit. I'm about to go see wassup with everyone though I'll fuck with you later kid." I dapped Mike up and took off into the crowd.
To be honest, this was a completely new scene for me. I never went out to party, especially at a function with this high of volume. It was all moving so fast, everywhere I looked I saw females shaking ass, or boo'd up on some nigga. I decided I would go get a drink and chill outside, and see if it was anything going on out there.
I got my drink, it was Jameson. I handled alcohol well so I went straight for the big guns. I was on my second cup before I went outside, and everything was feeling good. As I stepped outside I saw Reef, and Eric. They were kicking it with a group of girls, so I let them do their thing. That was until they saw me and invited me over there. I was about to turn around, all I heard was Eric's country accent. Shit resonated so perfectly in my head.
"Where you heading nigga? Come chill with your boys man."
I headed that way, at this point the two cups of Jameson had hit me harder than expected, so I was a little tipsy. I got over there, and Eric and Reef introduced me to the girls, all of which I can already tell weren't my type. Not even based on looks, but how they were reacted to my vernacular. I had responded after Eric introduced me, "It's a pleasure to meet you females, I mean you're all beautiful." My thought was, they were used to the hood type niggas who never talked to a female like that, because as soon as I said that I saw a look go over one of their faces, a peculiar, kind of baffled face. I paid it no mind though, I just told Eric and Reef I was about to split back into the house. Reef grabbed me though, and notified me there was a girl eyeing me down at the back door.
"Yo I don't know if you saw, but it's a shorty up there looking you down, go spit man."
"I got you, let me handle this." And without making it obvious I made my way to her.
I got to the door, and she was trying to play off looking at me. Before I said anything, I wanted to catch a clear image of the girl. She was about 5'4", probably about a shade lighter than me; she had this vibe about her too, that was just great. I didn't even say a word to her, I was just mesmerized by her looks...I sized her up one more time then went in for the kill.
"You seem out of place, what's got you troubled?" I tried to play it as cool as I could.
"Oh it's just, this isn't my scene...I came out here with my girls reluctantly, and I'm not having a good time. I'm not the type that would have fun here."
"Yeah me too actually, I'm not the party type at all, and I had a bad day yesterday, so I'm just like eh, I guess I would come through. What's your name though?"
She looked at me, and smiled. I was taken aback by how straight her teeth were, it was marvelous. She giggled.
"You're cute. And it's Melanie, by the way."
I tried hard to not smile, it didn't work though.
"That's a cute name, I'm Dev. How about we go somewhere less crowded? We can talk a little more, you know?"
With a sudden sense of security, she grabbed my arm, and took me through the door.
"Let's go."
