After a while, I decided to ask her what had happened with her family that she was reluctant to talk about at the party. She seemed slow to tell, but she opened up.

"Well, I'm originally from NYC, and my older brother was killed in some big ass kidnapping scheme over some drugs or something, I don't want to get into detail about all of that."

I stopped dead in my tracks. Could it be? She was one of Kaide's friends younger sister? I was flabbergasted for lack of a better word. She looked back at me, and asked me what the problem was.

"Oh nothing, I think I heard of what happened there, what's your brother's name?"

"Percy. Percy Wright."

How could this happen? How could this shit catch up to me at this point? Especially with someone I have feelings for like her...I just was dumbfounded. I didn't want to tell her about my past just yet, so I was hoping she didn't ask about me. Then it hit me again, Kaide is getting out soon too. I hope he can't tell the resemblance between the two because I'm not trying to catch hell from him because of that. I kept it pushing with her though.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I added on. "If you ever need solace I'm here, to talk about anything."

She looked at me with a promising look, and hugged me tight.

"Thank you so much, I'll take you up on that offer. We should probably catch up to our friends right?"

"Oh yeah period. Let's go."

We eventually caught up to them, and said our goodbyes. Me and Keith got in his ride, and he saw something was eating me alive.

"Yo you good? Wassup!"

"Man you won't believe this shit...remember I told you about my past? Well she one of the niggas that kidnapped me little sister. No bullshit either. I'm just befuddled, perplexed, all of that."

He was as shocked as me. Jaw dropped and all.

"Say word? Aw man...you know how you going to handle this? Did you tell her about you?"

"Nah, not yet, I can't bust that down to her now, I will later though. I really like shorty though that's the problem. Damn man, it's a small ass world. I hope Zoe big mouth ass don't say anything either, I forgot she knew."

"Yo son look I got you if you need to holla at anyone about this, you know that."

We got to my house by then, I couldn't do anything but just go sleep. I told Keith I'd see him in school I had to stay by myself for a day or so. I got in the crib, greeted my mom, and went straight to my room and just laid down and looked at the ceiling, as every single thought ran through my mind. I was trying to tell myself everything was going to be alright, I believed myself for the time being, and went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to my mom calling my name. I walked out of my room and she had her phone in my hand, she said someone wanted to talk to me. I already knew who it was, Kaide. I took the phone and greeted him.

"Yo wassup man?"

"Little brother what's going on? Ma dukes said you got yourself a new shorty, you happy yo?"

"Yeah man I am, she's cool, just like me, all of that shit. How you handling your final months?"

"Man I couldn't be more excited to see you man, I fucking miss you. Just wait when I get out, you gonna have to show me around Ohio though, shit sound mad country. I hope it's not."

"Oh it's not, best believe it's lit out here. Just wait for the summer man. I love you though bro, I'll keep holding it down."

"Word, love you too little bro, peace man."

I gave the phone back to my mom, and went back to my room, to check my phone. Melanie had texted me goodmorning, and that's about it. So I hit her back, and went back about my day. I didn't want to pay Kaide's coming home and my findings about Melanie any mind until they came to a head.
