I never thought I'd be writing this, yet here I am. It's been almost a year, and it hasn't gotten any easier.

These songs are the ones that didn't make it. The ones I was too ashamed to show my producers, with lyrics so honest they make me furious. In a way, this album is for me, a record of my sleepless nights, but it's also yours. I'm sorry, for this is the only method I could come up with to reach you. I've never been as good with words as you are. I swore I would never write a love song again, but I'm ripping my chest open for you in these eight tracks because I still love you.

Yes, I do— I do. I think I love you, because what is love if not grief persevering? Because I might never love again if it's not you who's dancing in my kitchen, flowers blossoming under your feet as you come back to me, slow steps and steady breaths.
